📍ABANDONED FACTORY BEHIND HUDSON RIVER RAILROAD

After declining the call with Peter and Joana, Y/N sat down on the rolling chair behind her, rubbing her eyes under the lens of her glasses in stress and frustration.

Peter and Joanna were impulsive, very much like herself and Tony, which frightened the two Avengers more than they'd like to admit. The fact that they saw themselves in them only increased the amount of care they had, as neither Tony nor Y/N wanted either of the kids to turn out like them.

"DAVID," Y/N cracked her knuckles, pushing herself on the rolling chair to the middle of the room, "Let's roll."

A large red dome-shaped hologram appeared out of the lens of her glasses and settled around her. An addition to the piece of tech done by Tony, of course.

"Let's start with the cube," Y/N tossed it from one hand to another, "What can you tell me about it?"

A horizontal beam on red began to scan the cube on her palm, "The cube has information written in, I assume, Braille language,"

"Braille?"

"A tactical code that enables the visually impaired to read and write by touch."

"I know what it is. But why Braille's?" she thought to herself, furrows crinkling in thought, "Okay. What if I try to break it? Even though Tony had said that I couldn't," she trailed, "Worth a shot."

"The cube would implode and clear out a 10-mile radius within 10 seconds."

Y/N sighed heavily, head dropping to the head of the chair, "Anything that can melt the exterior and cancel out the implosion effect?"

"VOCs might aid you in both," DAVID explained, "The gas emitted from the cube might harm your amygdala, triggering worst memories."

Volatile organic compounds, or VOCs, are gases that are emitted into the air from products or during certain processes. They are the chemicals that are found in paints, cleaners, and disinfectants, fuels, etc.

"Okay," Y/N stood up from her chair, striding towards her duffel bag, "Let's get to work."

"Ms. Dmitri," the AI spoke gently, "The last time your amygdala was pressurized and your mind was forced to see your worst fear, you faced a severe panic attack that lasted for about 30 minutes."

"I'm aware, DAVID," she rolled her eyes, fishing out an old perfume and cleanser, "Thank you for the recap."

"Are you being arrogant or ignorant?"

"A bit of both, actually," Y/N twitched her head to the side in thought.

About ten minutes later, Y/N was settled cross-legged on the floor, surrounded by several bottles, and held the cube in her hand, running her fingers over it.
