We've given some time for Nick and me to heal a bit before we play savior for the Katty girl or whatever her name was. I don't know how many months she's been gone but since she's with Samuel, she's not going to be in the best condition.
The first time I met Samuel I was 14, I was going on a mission with a few people who were older than me. I didn't know what the mission was about, I just went. Two people died, three of us were held captive, and one person made it back to my Dad. It took them a week to get the three of us back. Within that time I have to say that was the worst I've experienced, even three years later. With Katty being gone for months, she could probably be dead.
"Here," Oliver sets a heavy bag on my lap.
"Seriously?" I say while opening it.
It's full of guns.
"Where'd you get these?" I dump the whole bag out on the bed.
"I have my ways."
Two bulletproof vests also fall out.
"Just two?"
"That's all I could get."
Nick walks over and picks up a gun, "Assault rifle, honestly my favorite."
He picks up one of the vests and puts it over my head, he takes the other one tossing it to Oliver.
"You two can keep the vest, I've been doing this for years."
"I don't need it, I've been doing it for years too," I noted.
"Yeah, but you're my sister and you can't die yet."
We grab the weapons we need strapping knives under our shirts and putting the guns in the back of our pants. We put everything we're not taking back in the bag and zipping it up. Oliver grabs the bag and he peeks his head out the motel room door. Can't have any workers questioning us. He gestures for us to leave the room and we head for the car.
"Your sister Katty got herself in some deep sh*t," I spoke.
They both stare at me confused.
"Who is Katty?" Oliver tilts his head.
"Mal," Nick tries holding in his laugh, "His sister's name is Kassie."
Oh.
"Right, whatever, just drive."
Samuel isn't far from us, the thing is we just have to be prepared.
We park in an empty parking lot and get out of the car. We head towards the building being aware of our surroundings. We try entering but the doors are locked, I notice a camera above the door. I can tell someone is watching us.
"Tell Samuel Tristen's kids are here."
As soon as I say that the doors unlock. I open one and peek my head in, the windows of the building are tinted so you can't see in from the outside, we have to be cautious. We fully step inside looking around. A woman comes into the hall, her heels clinking against the tiled floor as she walks to us. She's wearing a tight black dress and her hair is platinum blonde.
She reaches out her hand for us to shake, "I'm Valentina, Val for short."
We all shake her hand.
"I see you guys are looking for Samuel, follow me."
We follow her through the halls, and she leads us into a conference room.
"Everybody out," Samuel announced.
Everyone starts leaving while two other people stay, including Valentina. She closes the door behind her and proceeds towards Samuel.
"I haven't seen you two in years, I forgot your names," he laughs. "Who's the other kid?" He motions his head to Oliver.
"That doesn't matter, we came here for someone you took," Nick crossed his arms.
"Who might that be?"
"His sister," Nick points at Oliver.
"I don't remember taking anyone's sister."
"Well you did, and we want her back."
"Or what?"
Nick and I pull out our guns facing them towards Samuel and the other people with him. They also pull out their guns facing them toward us.
"Go find Kassie Oliver!" I shouted.
Oliver runs out of the room.
"That is the little b*tch you're looking for?" he grinned, "You really wanna risk your lives for her?"
"Give her up and we can leave with no problem."
"That's not how it works kid, you steal from me and you face the consequences."
"Well, that's not going to happen today."
I pull the trigger shooting the guy on the left of Samuel, Nick shoots the guy on the right.
"You guys are grown up, last time I saw you guys, actual killers now."
"Thanks for taking me in," Valentina says as she pistol whips him, "Follow me guys."
She takes us out of the room. We see Oliver across the hall carrying who assume is his sister. She has the same brown hair as him, and she looks very malnourished and bruised. I stuff my gun back in the back of my pants and continue to them.
"We need to get her to a hospital," Oliver says, trembling at the sight of his sister's condition.
"No," Kassie coughs. "We can't leave Madalyn, I'm not leaving without her."
"Who's Madalyn?" Nick asks.
"The girl who was across from me."
Nick and Valentina run to go get her. The rest of us hurry to the car. Oliver sits in the back with his sister.
"You drive," he passes me the keys.
I sit in the driver's seat waiting for Nick and Val.
They come out of the building carrying the girl Kassie said to get. Her body is just as bruised and malnourished. Nick sets her in the back seat and comes to the front.
"I'll follow you guys in another car," Val says.
I don't know if I trust her, but for now, I'll go with it. We drive to the nearest hospital, we take off the vest and weapons before entering and checking in the two girls. Oliver gives his sister to the doctors and they take her to a room.
Oliver rubs the back of his neck, "I've never seen her like that, she looks really bad."
His breathing starts getting heavier, "Dammit, I should have watched her better. If she dies it's my fault."
F*ck.
I hug Oliver and he rests himself in my arms.
Ok so Valentina wasn't even going to exist lol but there's a reason for her. Do you guys trust her? Chapter 8 will be out Friday or Saturday. Follow my tik tok @/_ljwrites.
