There was banging on my door, I immediately woke up. It was 2:30. Shit. I was late. I immediately got up and opened my door. The group was standing there. I was slightly embarrassed.
"My bad, I wanted to get some sleep in before we went to investigate stuff," I explained.
"That's not the point, we gotta go," Kaz grabbed my arm and dragged me out into the hall.
I pulled my door closed and slapped at her hand, "HEY- HEY- I KNOW-"
She aggressively let go, "Then c'mon,"
"I know something we can do," I said, walking up next to her.
"What's that?" She asked.
"The new floor, it has stuff for all of us," I said.
"He means the Ultimate Rooms," Koki stated.
"Oh, I know that," Kaz scoffed, "That's where I planned on going,"
"Do we have to check all of them? I've already checked mine," I said.
"As have I, but you all may think I'm lying if I say there's nothing, therefore, yes we need to check them all," Koki stated.
"Besides the dead ones, we know it's not them," Shin added.
"And why do you know it's not them?" I asked.
"They'd still be lurking somewhere," Kaz replied.
"How do you know they're not?" I asked.
"Believe it or not, I've been everywhere in this goddamn building, besides the 5th floor. I gotta fuckin' do something to keep myself occupied," She shrugged.
Koki nodded, "That's why we're going to the 5th floor,"We reached the 5th floor.
"Shin, isn't your room first?" Koki asked, "Since we know for sure it wasn't Ayu, and she was room 1,"
Shin nodded, "You're right,"We walked to his room and opened the door. We entered the room. There wasn't much to unpack. He was a night, it looked medieval-ish. Kinda like his room. We checked the whole room, there was nothing connected to him being the mastermind. We left and moved on. Takahiro was next. I doubted that she was the mastermind, but we checked anyway. There wasn't much to find. Just medical gear and some art supplies. That was kind of strange, but nothing was very "mastermind"-ish. We left and Shin stopped in the middle of the hall.
"Guys," He said, his voice had a worried tone, "I really have a bad feeling about this..."
Kaz turned to face him, "Then leave." She said bluntly.
"I...I don't want to, but, I'm worried about Takahiro. She's kinda weak, and what if she's killed while we're up here?" He wondered.
"Kunihiko's not that stupid, she knows she's alone down there," Koki stated.
Shin pondered, then he nodded, "I guess you're right,"
"Alright then, let's keep moving," Kaz walked forward. We followed. The next room was...mine. I sighed. They opened my door and we all walked in. I never really looked around my room myself. It was kinda stressful. What if I was the mastermind? No, that's stupid. I would know if I was. They didn't find anything suspicious, I let out a sigh of relief. We left my room. Next was Koki's. We entered his room. It was very clean, and everything was neatly put away. This was kind of suspicious, in a way. We searched the entire room. All we found was organizing supplies and business material. There were a few books here and there, but they had nothing to do with the game. I sighed.
"This is hopeless," I said, without realizing.
The room went silent.
They all looked at me. I was standing in the middle of the room, it felt like they were judging me for what I said. I wasn't wrong. There wasn't a point to this. We were gonna fail, and die anyway. Shin walked over to me. I looked up at him. He slapped me.
"Don't say that." He stared at me, "You KNOW it's not true. We will find a secret and get out of here!"
A secret. Wait, that reminded me. I gasped.
"Kunihiko's room." I stated.
"What?" Koki looked at me in surprise.
"She said she didn't remember her Ultimate, so that means she could be the mastermind, it's the most likely!" I stated.
Kaz's eyes widened, "Thats not a half bad assumption, and now we won't have to go to my room, great,"
"We can still check yours, if we don't find anything in Kunihiko's," I explained.
"Well let's head to Kunihiko's then," She said.We walked over to room 14, Kunihiko's room. I reached for the doorknob, but I was physically shocked when I touched it.
"AH-" I let out a scream.
"Is there something wrong with it?" Koki asked.
I nodded, "It- Don't touch it,"
"That's suspicious!" Shin stated.
Kaz nodded, "Why is her doorknob weird but no one else's is?"
I rubbed my hand, it was in pain, "I am not opening that,"Kaz pushed me out of the way and grabbed the doorknob, she pushed the door open.
"HOLY SHIT THAT HURT LIKE A FUCKIN' BITCH," She shook her hand off.
"Well, better her than me," Koki pushed past her and entered the room.He was silent. Everyone was. We were waiting for him to say something, if anything at all. He turned to us.
"You have to see this."
