Chapter 8

For the past two days, we weren't expecting all the circumstances that happened.

Though with Heikenz presence there, he reminded us of what we should do and what we should avoid. May mga bagay kasing maganda i-try for the first-timer pero may iilan dapat na kailangang iwasan if it's not gonna do anything for our benefit so I guess he's a big help—after all, we enjoyed his company.

"When are you guys coming back here?" tanong ni Devin—he's on a video call, panakaw na tumawag sa amin ni Caro.

"Sa Vegas?" Caro queried, Devin nodded.

Anyway, Devs, how are they?"

"Well..." Napabitaw ng malalim na hininga si Devin. Even though he looked so stress, ang gwapo pa rin niya. Waging-wagi si Mareng Cely. "She cried the other night... she was so stressed and she felt so... you know, doesn't expect this kind of situation. But we've been prepared for this, it's just that... it's hard to see her cry like that... not that I kept remembering what I did before."

"Girl," panimula ko. "Past is past. Resolve na 'yon. And just be with her at all times even though she doesn't need your help, be there for her because that's the point where she knew na hindi siya nag-iisa and of course, alam naman namin na hindi mo sila pababayaan. So, keep her at comfort, love her, do everything she asked for, iyon ang mahalaga."

"Yeah, yeah. I'm doing that though, sometimes it's just hard..."

"But that doesn't mean you're giving up, 'di ba?"

He immediately shook his head when I get to ask that question. "Yes, of course. Giving up is not an option here."

"Well, good to know that!" I said, smiling because that kind of assurance makes us feel that he won't hurt Cely in every possible way.

"So, what are you guys doing there now? What's the time there?"

"It's six in the morning. Katatapos lang namin mag-ayos for our trip today," sagot naman ni Caro.

"That's nice," he commented.

"Chika ko lang. Nilalandi ni Andrew 'yong tourist guide namin."

"Oh! For real?" He chuckled. "Well, I'm not surprised."

"Hoy! But anyway, gwapo siya and he's kind of nice. Funny siya and—"

"He's his type talaga," pagdurugtong pa ni Caro.
