*3rd Person*

Marinette had giggled randomly when the two were both quiet. Their conversation stopped when they both decided to reach for their coffee at the small table in front of them. As Marinette was sipping her coffee she had felt a sense of déjà vu. She had remembered the time when she and Damian had gone to get coffee after their time at the ice rink, the only reason it had happened was that Marinette's class had left her. She thought he must pity her, only hanging around her because the other students that she had once considered close friends always do terrible things. It seems to be getting worse. She knew Alya would trip her at some point during the day, as she always does, but this time it was something physical that had happened. She had been pushed into a concrete wall. She had dislocated her shoulder. If she had gone to the hospital then they would ask to see her in a few days, questioning why she was not in any pain or discomfort of having her shoulder put back in place. That would be thanks to Tikki. For being Ladybug, she had developed the power to heal more quickly than an average human being. She would still feel a bit of pain for a few hours, but to be physically healed within a few hours is still not normal. It was different since she didn't have the lucky charm to heal everyone's injuries; her injuries were caused when she was in her civilian identity. If any Miraculous holder were physically harmed outside of being transformed, then that would heal quickly since they are needed to save the day.

"What's funny?" Damian asked, confused.

"I just thought it was a bit funny that each time we separate from the class we always end up at a place that sells coffee," she said, smiling at him.

"Let's hope the next time we get separated from them. You don't get hurt or left behind," he said.

"Are you saying you want to purposely leave them instead?" Marinette questioned, teasing him a bit.

"No, I did not, tt you're changing the words that I had said," Damian said giving a small pout.

"But you're still hoping we somehow get separated from them?" She said, smirking

"No I didn't but if we somehow do, then hopefully you aren't hurt or left behind in the process," he said.

"So it's somehow. Okay, got it," she said, winking at him.

"What, what do you mean somehow," he asked, slightly panicked and slightly confused but he would never admit to ever feeling this way at this very moment.

"You said somehow, so I'm going with somehow," she said, confused as to why he didn't get the sense of the conversation.

"Somehow? When did I ever say that somehow?"

"You said somehow just right now Damian, are you okay?" she asked, giving him a small smile.

"I-I what just happened?" He said, giving her a weird look, still confused about what was happening.

Marinette then burst out laughing.

"I'm sorry," she paused to take a deep breath.

"I was just messing with you," she said, her laughter calming down.

Marinette got quiet again.

"Damian, can you be honest with me?" She said looking up at him.

"About?" He asked, taking a sip of his drink.

"Are you only my friend out of pity?"

Damian stopped drinking his coffee and put it down on the table. His jaw slightly clenched.

"Are you my friend because of my father's money?" He asked as looked from his drink to Marinette's eyes, he wanted to see how she would react.

Her face went into shock.
