DRACO helped Elara slide off his lap but grabbed her wrist as soon as she did.

"Stay behind me," he told her, getting to his feet. Luckily, she didn't protest and hovered at his back as he headed for the window that Kaia and Maya were now peering out of.

In the early morning sunlight, Magda was hobbling down the hill, her blond hair catching the rays. She looked like she was in pain—and it was only when she reached the bottom that Draco caught sight of the blood splattered on strands of her hair, her throat.

And behind her came Stuart Banks, supporting her with one arm around her waist, clutching hers thrown around his neck.

"What the fuck is he doing here?" Draco muttered under his breath, scanning the Death Eater. He looked nervous—but Draco still didn't trust him.

"Who is he?" Elara inquired, peeking around Draco's shoulder. "He seemed so familiar to me—"

"One of your friends," Potter replied, "at Hogwarts."

Her eyes widened but she didn't answer, only stared at Banks like she'd seen a ghost.

Draco narrowed his eyes, taking in the scene before him and held out a hand to where Kaia had been making her way to the door. "Don't."

Potter was peering out of the window on the other side of the door. "You suspect a trap?"

"Ask her something only she would know," Draco said over his shoulder to Elara as Magda limped closer, nearing the porch steps, Banks right behind her. She was clutching her side now, the effort obviously tiring her out.

Elara's brows furrowed as she thought and by the time she'd moved over to the door, Magda and Stuart had climbed the steps.

"Going to let me in?" Magda asked from the other side of the window, her voice muffled through the glass, piercing blue eyes glaring at Draco.

"No," he responded, enjoying how she huffed out an exasperated breath and rolled her eyes.

Elara cracked open the door and spoke into the gap, her voice tense. "What were you and I teasing Orion about that day in the library?"

Magda stopped short, surprised by the question and angled her head towards Draco, saying, "Really?"

"Precautions." He smirked back, already positive this was Magda by the mannerisms, the edged tone in her voice.

She rolled her eyes in response and sighed. "Threesomes."

Potter nearly choked on his own spit and even Draco's eyebrows rose. Banks looked anywhere else but at the door.
