CHAPTER 11

WHAT'S THIS? Why is he coming here?

I was so mesmerized by his brilliant green eyes that I think I forget how to to breath. Messy red hair, I think he dyed it like that, but the color really suits him well. Perfectly sculptured nose and moist red lips. He have those muscles right on their places and that mouth-watering six pack. Okay, my definition of hottie indeed.

I continue staring at him hanggang sa makalapit na siya sa kinaroroonan namin.

"You're Loraine Cruz, right?" Nakangiting pagbati niya. I keep my calm and neutral expression.

"You are?"

"Adam. So it's true that Lucas' fiancee have arrived here." Nakangiting sabi niya. He looks friendly, okay. Pero paano niya nakilala si Lucas. I'm pretty sure na wala ang character niya sa story.

"I'm not his fiancee, well, yet." Napipilitan kong sabi. Does he really need to remind me if my place? Ah, I can't wait the day that my name will be finally free from Lucas'. "Well, I just kinda end up in this situation. What's a luxury hotel owner wants with me anyway? Are you his friend?" Direktang tanong ko.

"You're staying here for two months, right? I just wanna be your friend since Lucas and I are very much acquainted. So, are you enjoying your stay?" Sabi niya habang may malawak na ngiti sa mukha. He looks nice, like really. And he looks awesomely cool too.

He's Lucas' friend but I never encounter a character like him in the story. Or I have? Hindi ko na kasi matandaan lahat ng detalye. For sure, hindi naman major ang role ng character na ito kaya sa tingin ko, pwede naman akong ma-involve sa kanya.

"I'm about to enjoy my stay. I actually plan to swim here." Sabi ko saka humarap sa dagat.

"Want me to join you?" Nakangiting tanong niya. Naitaas ko naman ang kilay ko.

"Is this still, uh, part of friendship?" Awkward kong tanong. Hindi naman sa ayaw ko pero hindi kasi ako kumportableng lumangoy kasama ang taong kakikilala ko pa lang. Kung nakilala ko siguro ang character niya sa story, baka magpasama pa ako sa kaniya.

"Well, kung okay lang?" Tanong niya. I heaved a sigh and looked away.

"Maglakad lakad nalang muna tayo sa dalampasigan. To be honest, I'm still uncomfortable with you." Prangka kong sabi. Sa halip na ma-offend ay tinitigan niya lang ako saka siya natawa ng mahina. Nagtataka ko naman siyang pinanood.

"Sorry. It's just that, you're right. You shouldn't be easy to let your guard down around with people, especially with guys What if I have more than friendship in mind when I approached you?" Nakangiti ngunit seryosong sabi niya. Naitago ko nalang ang pagngiti ko. He reminds me so much of Kali.

"That means I should just keep my guard up around you, right? If you tried to do something I didn't  like, you'll be send at the hospital right this instant." Sabi ko na nagpatawa muli sa kanya.

"Damn, I really like your personality." Nakangiting sabi niya. "Don't worry, what I really want is just.." sandali siyang napatitig siya sa mukha ko. What happened to this guy?

"Just friendship, right?" Ako na ang nagtuloy sa sinasabi niya. Muli naman siyang nakabawi at ngumiti. Tumango lang siya sa sinabi ko. Napangisi naman ako. "Well, if it's more than friendship, then I'll guess you should earn my trust enough so I could give my heart to you." Nakangiting sabi ko. Natigilan siya at bumakas ang pagkagulo sa mata niya.

"What are you saying?" Naguguluhan niyang tanong.

"It's just an answer to your what if. But it doesn't really matter since you want us to be friends, right?" Tanong ko. Nakangiting sumang-ayon lang siya akin.
