~Lorraine's POV~

Darkness.

Darkness was all I saw in that cellar.

My head was pounding from the fall I had suffered.

I could feel the scratches and bruises already forming on my body from hitting the hard concrete floor.

A certain spot on my head ached quite badly, and I reached up to touch it.

A sharp pain flew through my skull, even at the faintest touch of my finger.

When I drew away my finger, I felt it was wet.

Blood.

I was stunned for a good moment, struggling to comprehend what had just happened.

Then, I heard it.

A crying woman.

I slowly turned to glance behind me, locating the direction of the noise.

My eyes met the back of a larger woman.

She was crouched over a young boy, who was laying lifeless on the floor.

The woman's body was wracking with heavy sobs.

Then, she suddenly stopped crying.

"You did this."

My eyes widened, not believing the voice that just spoke.

"You. You did this."

The voice was now coming from behind me.

I turned ever so slowly.

When I looked ahead of me, I saw nothing but empty darkness.

I set my hand on the ground to balance myself out before I fell over with dizziness and pain.

As my hand hit the ground, I bumped something, making a ping! noise.

I looked down and sought out the silhouette of the little mirror toy the Perron girl was playing with earlier.

The reason I was in this whole mess in the first place.

I gently picked up the toy and began turning the crank.

As the little clown in the center popped up and down, a feeling of uneasiness began to wash over me.

The woman is still here.

As the toy gave its final line of a lullaby, I slowly lowered it, sensing there was something in front of me.

I met the eyes of the sobbing woman.

She had black streaks running down her face, a mark of her tears.

Her eyes were staring into the darkness, empty and emotionless.

Her mouth was slightly agape, but it soon began to mouth words.

"She's here."

The woman's lifeless eyes slowly turned and met mine.

I was horrified by the sight.

Blood began dripping from the sides of her mouth.

The woman spoke again, more loudly.

"She's here."

I then heard a noise.

The noise of a swinging rope, carrying a hefty amount of weight.
