When Lee arrived at their room, he thought that Blue Poison was already asleep. It was already past 11 pm when he opened the door, yet he saw her still up and full of energy. She was in the kitchen and was busy cooking.“Welcome back.” Blue Poison glanced and smiled at him before continuing slicing ingredients. She was humming a song and was enjoying herself. 'I guess she really loves cooking huh?’ Lee smiled and put his things down on the couch. He removed his trench coat and hung it on the coat rack near the doorway. From an outsiders perspective, they could be mistaken as a newly wed couple.
“And here I thought you were already asleep. What are you cooking?” Lee asked and went beside her, but she turned around and pointed at him.
“Uh-uh. You mister, are not allowed to see it yet. Go take a bath and clean yourself first.” She said and crossed her arms. Lee took a step forward and she raised her arms while tip toeing. Despite being a foot smaller than him, she managed to block Lee’s view on the food. “After you’ve cleaned yourself, the food will be ready.”
“Who died and made you my mom?” Lee snickered. Blue Poison giggled and continued blocking his view.
“Alright, alright. I’ll go take a bath now ma’am.” He sighed in defeat while walking away. Blue Poison heard the bathroom door lock. She made a victory pose for a moment then went ahead to put plates on the dining table.
She glanced back one more time to make sure he wasn’t sneaking up behind her and continued cooking.
Lee plopped himself on the bathtub. He grunted at the limited space to which he was sitting on. It was cramped and felt like he was in a kids bathtub.
After a few minutes of trying to adjust, Lee ultimately gave up. He slumped back and rested his head against the wall. He closed his eyes and smiled bitterly.
He didn’t show this expression when Blue Poison was telling him what to do. Her actions reminded him about his past. It was just like one of those times when his friend Liv would scold the Commandant for not eating healthy food, or if he was linked with them for too long.
‘*Sigh*, I wonder if they are alright.’ Lee put a hand in his head internally. It’s been a long time since he arrived here, and the thought of not being able to return back makes his mind hazy. Seven years of wandering around and searching for clues or a sign of a portal, but to no avail. He even went back to that barn in Leithania where he crashed landed.
‘Can’t escape fate huh?’
He continued drowning himself with his thoughts when he heard a knocking sound on the door. He jolted and opened his eyes, causing him to splash water on the tiled floor.
“Uhmm Lee? Are you alright?” The muffled voice of Blue Poison was heard behind the door. “It’s almost 15 minutes since you entered. Is something wrong? Have your wounds reopened?” Her tone was worried.
'Wait, I daydreamed that long?’
“Blue Poison, you don’t have to worry. I’m just enjoying myself.” He slightly raised his voice.
'Crap, I hope that didn’t sound wrong.’
“I’m almost done, just wait in the kitchen or watch tv.” Lee added.
“I see. Well, if you stay for another 15 minutes the food will go cold, okay?” She replied and Lee heard faint footsteps and sensed that she was gone.
'Honestly, Blue Poison sounds just like Liv. I’m not even considered human anymore, yet she treats me like one.’
“*Sigh*, time to wrap this up.” Lee muttered and cleaned himself.
