Kaneki sat with his class in their designated area whilst the rest of the first years completed the miscellaneous events. Only one of his students didn't pass the first round, and Kaneki was doing his best to console him.
"It's okay Granite. The first round was a test of speed and unfortunately speed is not your strong suit. But that doesn't mean you are a failure. All this does is tell you what your strengths are and what your weaknesses are." He said whilst patting Ejiro on the back.
"I just like I let down the rest of my friends." The boy replied, trying not to cry.
"You didn't let us down Ejiro." Ibara said and she put her arms around the boy. "You did us proud, despite having serious issues with your speed due to both your Quirk and Kagune you were only one place off of passing. We all believe that you did the best you could, and who knows if you work on your speed you could very well surpass and as you said earlier stomp us next year."
Ejiro looked up at the vine haired girl like she was his own personal angel.
"That's right!" He yelled standing up. "I can't let this one defeat get to me, I need to learn from this so I can get better because that's what being manly is all about!"
Kaneki shook his head in amusement at Eijiro's antic and stood up. "Well I'll be on my way. You have a Calvary Battle to prepare for, it's best I don't distract you."
As he was walking out of class 1-K's seating area he was stopped by Katsuki, who was all on his own for a change.
"Cotton Puff, where is Sprout?" Kaneki asked, momentarily forgetting the boy's muteness.
The blonde boy gestured for Kaneki to follow and he began to walk off into the direction of the looker rooms. Intrigued, Kaneki followed the boy and stopped outside one of the locked rooms and at Katsuki's signalling he stopped to listen.
"Young Midoryia, don't you see that by becoming like that monster you have not only defiled yourself, but every one else who once inherited One For All." A man said.
'That's All Might.' Kaneki thought with a frown.
"Do you want to know something, All Might?" A boy replied.
'That's Sprout.' Kaneki thought and had to fight to prevent himself from kicking down the door.
"I'm waiting." All Might said.
"That person you called a monster helped me to control my Quirk. You know the very thing you gave to me."
"I already apologised for not being able to teach you as I was incapacitated."
"Yeah well it would have been nice to fucking know. We got attacked by villains All Might and you didn't even check up on any of us. And then there was the past two weeks. I had to learn from Mr. Aizawa and Sensei where you were and what happened. You have my phone number and didn't even message or call me once, despite me doing my absolute best to contact you." There was a brief pause before Izuku continued, barley audible. "I needed you All Might and you weren't there. My mum and dad died several years ago All Might. I thought I had finally found someone who genuinely gave a shit about the Quirkless and orphaned boy. I see now that I was wrong."
Kaneki heard Izuku slowly walk towards the door and was prepared to open it when All Might made one last, desperate attempt.
"Young Midoryia wait-" The number one hero called out before a massive crash rang out from that room.
Unwanted imagery flashed through Kaneki's head briefly and he kicked down the door, sending it flying off it's hinges. One one side of the room the Symbol of Peace was pulling himself out of the rubble of a couple lockers. Meanwhile Izuku was standing there, hands raised in defense with his Kagune activated for the fist time.
'Holy shit. He's a Chimera." Kaneki remarked. Izuku's first Kagune was a Rinaku. Two green-red tentacles emerged from a torn hole in the back of his shirt. His second Kagune was an Ukaku. Much like Uraraka he had two wings, but his matched the same colouration as Touka's did.
Kaneki quickly moved to defend the child, wrapping both his arms and Kagune around him in a defensive manner.
All Might went to say something but was cut off by Izuku. "Whatever you're going to say forget it. If you try to speak to me again or even think about coming near me I will tear you to pieces. Do you understand Toshinori? Come near me and I'll fucking kill you."
