After we all brushed off the initial shock that mom and dad were going to be moving to Korea at the end of summer, we could finally start enjoying our vacation. If anything, it made me even more excited. There was something about Seoul that just lifted up my spirits and calmed me. I don't think there has ever been a place that has done that for me till now.

"Where are we headed first?" I asked as we headed onto probably our third train of today.

My dad seemed to have everything planned as he took out little itineraries for each of us. I stopped to just admire it for a second. I swear my dad thinks of everything. He even put a list of simple things to say in korean at the bottom.

I guess it looked like we were heading to Gyeonbokgung Palace. It would be pretty cool to learn a but about Korean history and culture.

I would say that in general, I was pretty excited about walking around the streets and being immersed in modern korean culture. Walking around the Gangnam district this evening would be fun. I feel like most people at least recognized that place from PSY's hit song Gangnam Style.

Me and Alara played around on the metro ride. We took pictures of eachother as the city moved past us, and laughed at all the funny things we were catching our family members do. Sam seemed to be enjoying it considering this was his first trip with the family.

Soon enough, we were pulling up to our final destination. My dad had us all pack close together to avoid getting seperated. The stations were all quite busy, and were quite frankly a maze to me. I don't know how anyone got around.

It wasn't too far of a walk to get to the palace from the station, but my parents were insistent on keeping us all in a group.

Sloping gray roofs peeked over the small buildings of the street leading up to the palace. So early in the morning, tourists were already gathered to enter the grounds. The palace itself was really cool. The bright red colors, and sloped roofs made it look so majestic. I couldn't help but admire the fine details.
