Chapter Eight: Code and Souls

Geno's POV HOURS LATER

"You're a mistake."

"You're gonna die."

"Only I can have you and keep you safe."

"Don't deny your destiny."

"You need me."

"Nobody else will love you like I do."

"Reaper is just leading you on."

"Those other gods are using you and lying to your face."

"You're NOTHING."

"Stop fighting back."

"You're supposed to be dead after all and that's all everyone but me sees. A corpse waiting to be put in the ground."

"You can't trust anyone but me."

"I know everything about you."

"Don't you remember the last time you trusted someone as much as you trust Reaper? They tried to KILL you. What makes this time any different? NOTHING."

"Just give in."

Taunting voices like this and much more kept repeating and all I could hear. To the point that it felt like the voices were in my head!

"GET OUT! GET OUT OF MY HEAD! LET ME GO!"I snap

"Oh but Geno, you know I'm right."The voices echo

"If not Reaper than his father. He surely seems set on keeping you from getting too close with Reaper."Others say

"You're just a tool. Something to use until you break or they get tired of using you. Then you'll just get replaced. You've seen that Reaper doesn't have a long attention span and it's a miracle that he is focused on you this long."Some say

"SILENCE! SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP! YOU ARE WRONG ABOUT REAPER! YOU CANNOT TWIST MY MIND TO PLEASE YOU! NOW I KNOW WHO YOU ARE BUT YOU WILL NEVER GET ME! YOU ARE WRONG!"I snap

"Oh, so we're right about Gaster and wrong about his son? That doesn't make much sense, Geno. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree after all."The voices say

"Just shut up..."I say

"We'll see how they react when you're broken....."The voices say

Then all I could hear was static. Loud, endless static. Something snapped and I suddenly felt numb but in horrible pain at the same time. I felt my ankles at where the rope was. I already learned that I couldn't use my powers here so I tried to break the rope myself. Only took untying a knot apparently. My soul felt like it was suddenly bursting with energy. I couldn't see anything but static by now. I got up and felt along the walls, feeling a doorknob. I grab it, opening the door that apparently was unlocked. I open it and walked out blindly. I could hear birds chirping and distant laughter. I froze, getting creeped out and reminded of bad times.

"Hello, Geno. Going to visit Reaper again?"I hear Asgore say, sounding like he just walked past me

I didn't even leave Reapertale....Works for me.

I nod.

"He has been looking all over for you. He's probably straight ahead."He says, his voice fading

I nod, then run ahead to find Reaper.

"Geno? Geno?! Geno where are you?!"I hear Reaper yell

I felt my soul skip a beat.

I reach out blindly the louder his voice got, meaning that I was closer. I felt a fabric very familiar to me by now. Reaper's cloak.
