One and Only

Ch. 20 Riko Amanai

"Yeah, so do you mind coming with us?" Satoru asked again.
"Yeah I don't mind at all. Just let me know when and I'll get my things." I replied.
"You said you were in your dorm? Great, I'm gonna come get you." I then heard a muffled 'she said she'll come', probably talking with Suguru. "Okay, Suguru's going ahead of us to put out some Curses to use for surveillance. We'll catch up. I'll see you in a bit!" He hung up the phone. I didnt realize he meant right at this moment. I quickly got up and put my hair into bun and threw on my boots. I turned to the sound of knocking at the door.
"Hey, you got here a lot faster than I thought you would." I said as I opened the door.
"We were like halfway between the courtyard and the dorms, kind of a spur of the moment idea. Need to go anywhere before we leave?" Satoru asked. I quickly closed the door behind me as I joined him in the hallway.
"Yeah, need to go to the weapons locker. Been practicing with some new Dual Tang Swords that my sister was able to make into cursed tools! It's her first official set sent to the college, so I wanted to be the first one to use them on missions." I said with a bounce in my step.
"Oh, shit really? Didn't know she was already producing cursed tools. That's cool," Satoru enthused. "What do they do?"
"Supposed to be able to cut through cursed energy that's used as a second skin. Cutting away at both the cursed energy and the flesh." I replied with delight.
"I don't think I've ever seen someone this happy about a sword." Satoru mused.
"Well I like swords, I think they're neat. Plus how can I not be? Himeko made something amazing!" I squealed out. We arrived at the weapons locker and I presented our I.D's to the guard. He happily stepped aside to let both Satoru and I inside. Most of the guards already recognized me because of how frequently I stopped by.
"Oh, so this is what it looks like." Satoru said as he looked around the room. The walls were lined with racks that were filled with every weapon you could think of. Katanas, broad swords, staffs, spears, nunchakus, and more.
"I've never seen you carry a weapon, so I'm not surprised you've never been in here." I said as I walked to the back of the room where the dual weapons were stored.
"Well it's not like I need one, but some of these are pretty cool. Oh, what's this?" Satoru was beside me and reached out to grab a pair of chakram.
"Don't touch without permission," I swatted at his hand. He cradled it with his free one and pouted. I just rolled my eyes at him. I grabbed the Tang Sword and scooped up a harness. "Here, hold these." I handed him the sheathed blades. I put on the chest harness. The belts looping under my bust and thick bands hugging around my shoulders. "Can you fasten the swords to my back please?" I looked back at Satoru.
"Sure, here?" I could feel his hands feeling around my back.
"Yup, the swords should be able to slide into the holsters," I directed him. I could feel the added weight of the swords. I moved and jumped around a bit to ensure that they were secure to my back. "Great, thanks." I said as I turned back to him. Satoru had a hand to his chin, examining me.
"What?" I asked, shying away from his gaze.
"I don't think I've seen you with swords on your back, I'm used to the staff. Also, that harness makes your boobs look huge." I smacked his shoulder, but he put up his Infinity.
"You only put that up because you know you deserve it." I glared.
"What? Nooo." Satoru waved. I rolled my eyes at him and walked out of the room. Satoru following close behind.

Satoru told me to stand by at about two miles away from where the girl was. Said something about a rogue organization trying to kill the girl before Tengen was able to merge with her. I decided to hang out on the roof of a smaller building. Although a bit far, I was still able to see the building that she was supposedly in. I ended up thinking about what I wanted to have for dinner, maybe Ramen? I was stolen from my food daydreams by my phone's chime for an incoming message.
