You woke the next morning Tae's head nestled on your lap, your fingers tousled in his soft hair. Your first thought was of your daughter, you held your breath and then you heard the monitor, turned down but quietly thumping out beats.

Slowly the previous night came back to you, and the pain started making itself known, your elbow, hip and ankle. You felt hungry and suddenly worried, when was the last time you'd eaten? What time was it? You needed to take care of yourself to take care of your baby. The clock on the wall said a little after 8 in the morning.

"Princess?" Tae looked up at you, eyes still heavy with sleep and you started crying. You didn't want to believe this was really happening. He sat up and pulled you into his arms, gentle shushing noises as he rocked you slowly.  It made you cry harder. Tae should be bouncing your daughter, cooing at her, calming her tears in a few months. Now you didn't know if there would be a baby to do any of those things with.

A knock came at the mostly closed door and Tae turned beckoning the visitor in. It turned out to be Lee Sangwon one of their managers. She paused at the doorway clearly not wanting to intrude, but you motioned her forward.

"We recovered your purse from last night, nothing seems missing. I don't want to bother either of you but we should talk." Taehyung motioned to the couch and she set your stuff on the bed as she walked by before sitting down. You picked it up and pulled out your wallet and phone, which had died. You were grateful you didn't have to see all the missed calls and messages.

"What's going on Sangwon?" He twisted his fingers through yours and angled his body in front of you protectively. "Y/N can't be stressed out right now, maybe we should have this conversation later."

"I understand that, but she needs to be a part of this decision." Sangwon opened her laptop and pulled up a webpage.

Pictures of you and Sujin loading into the ambulance flooded the screen you clearly clutching your pregnant belly showcased by your too tight dress. Next were shots of the ambulance as it unloaded you at the hospital. Sangwon scrolled and then there were pics of Namjoon and Tae rushing through the crowd at the back entrance. You realized when you'd yelled at him they'd taken no precaution just rushed right over.

"We've never officially announced or acknowledged any BTS relationships. It has always been our stance to keep those private and ride out any speculation. This time feels different, fans created a dangerous situation and Y/N got hurt. After discussing it with all the execs this morning we feel we need to take a hard line. We would like to have a press conference and release a statement saying how disappointed we are in their behavior. We want them to know what that behavior has cost you, Taehyung, someone they vow to protect and love." Sangwon closed the laptop and looked at you both with a serious expression.

"You want me to go on camera and say that fans caused my pregnant girlfriend to fall down the steps and that we're in the hospital desperately trying to save our daughter?" Tae's voice choked up at the end, you dropped your hands to your tummy feeling a tiny kick.

"Tae she kicked, that's the first time I've felt her since yesterday." You grabbed his hand and pressed it down on the same spot, your daughter nudged again. "I think she agrees with the execs." You were crying again, you didn't want to get your hopes up but feeling her move gave you such comfort. Tae was crying too and leaned closer to kiss your tummy.

"Hi baby, hi sweet girl." His deep voice soothed out. He sat up turning back to Sangwon. "Yes, we should do it, we need this to never happen again."

"I'm glad you agree, I think we should wait a few days, we don't want to pull you away from Y/N, and we need to get our lawyers to strike the right tone. I'd advise you to stay off the internet, don't read all the slander, we're addressing it as quickly as possible."

"What are they saying? At least give me the short version." You took a deep breath, you knew you weren't going to google it, and it wasn't even the first time fans had come for after seeing a pic of you at a BTS event. You just wanted to know what your friends and family would be seeing.

"A lot of speculation that you could be a crazy saesang pretending to be having Namjoon or Taehyung's baby. They've dug up your name and some previous employers. They found your university and your private Instagram, I'm sure you'll be flooded with follow requests. A few smarter reporters have said you must be Taehyung's girlfriend because of how distraught he looked coming into the hospital. Army doesn't like the implications there's a lot of girls crying on the internet. A lot of fans saying that none of the guys would betray Army with a romantic relationship."

In fact you and Tae had been together almost three years. None of the BTS members were single, Namjoon and Jin were both married with kids. The rest had serious long term partners. The newest relationship was Hobi and his boyfriend but even they had been together a year.

A nurse arrived with a tray of food and you started tuning Tae and Sangwon out as you ate quietly. They were discussing details you couldn't find the energy to care about. When you heard the name Bo Hyun you snapped your head their way interested once more.

"You know he left me alone. He ran after the guys and never once remembered he was supposed to be covering me. Please don't send him anywhere near me." Your voice trembled with anger. You didn't want to start throwing blame around but he felt like a good place to at least lay some of it.

"What do you mean? He was assigned to your detail not the talent." Sangwon frowned leaning forward in her seat.

"He dragged Jimin and me to the Sprinter. He said Sujin's security was with Y/N." Tae sounded confused, like he'd never connected the dots until this moment. "Y/N you were alone? No security was with you at all?"

"No when everything happened I was by myself. He went out the door with you and Sujin and Yang Jaesoo were trying to make their way out too. I was surprised when I saw her come down the steps. She fought her way back in to help me." You carefully adjusted your tone to not sound accusatory that he hadn't done the same.

Tae flinched anyway realizing that was the truth. Sujin, pregnant herself, had risked the crowd to be by your side while he climbed into the safety of a company van and sped away, his girlfriend unaccounted for and hurt. He shook his head anger coming into his tone and you couldn't tell if it was at himself or Bo Hyun.

"Move him to another group, I don't want to see him around anymore. If he'd stayed where he was assigned maybe this wouldn't have happened." His eyes had gone cold but he brushed his hand down the back of your neck. "Eat baby, okay? This conversation is over." Sangwon got the picture and stood wishing you well and left quietly.

"Are you really ready to tell Army you're in a relationship? You've never wanted to do that." You scooped up a bite of soup watching him. You didn't feel hungry anymore but fought to urge to put the spoon down.

"They swear that they want us to be happy and healthy and safe. Real Armys would never have done that. And any of them that leave the fandom because we aren't single should have left a long time ago. I'm 25 years old, did they think I've never dated? You're not even my first girlfriend." Tae forced a smile but you could see the worry behind it.

"Being sad over you having a relationship will be temporary baby, a couple months from now the toxic ones will show themselves out and life will move on. It always does with them. The next big thing will happen and a BTS girlfriend will be old news."

"Y/N all that matters is you and our baby, if we never do another concert or write another album I'll still be the happiest man in the world with you both by my side." He kissed your lips softly and rubbed his hand across your bump.

You couldn't help but wonder if he would feel the same way if his daughter wasn't in that perfectly drawn future.
