You'd let Taehyung walk you out. While you'd found your bra and panties he'd retrieved your dress from the living room. He'd pulled his pants back on, they rode low on his hips and he was barefoot and shirtless. You stood in front of the elevator, neither of you hitting the button.
"Do you have a ride home? I could take you Y/N." He wrapped his arms around your waist and pulled you against his warm chest. His hands rested comfortably on your body, familiar, because he'd done it a thousand times.
"I brought my parents car, it's in the garage downstairs." You snuggled against him and sighed. You couldn't look into his eyes because your feelings would turn back on and you were barely containing them.
Why did closure have to look so good on him? All the weary pressure and anger was gone. Taehyung's shoulders didn't bend from the tension between you. How could you upset that balance by saying what you felt? You'd come over here to get it out of your system. Tae clearly had the same plan, and now you'd walk away knowing that he would be alright, even if you weren't.
"I should go." You pushed backward against Tae's chest and he caught your chin in his fingers. He nodded and then kissed you. It heated you head to toe, but you could feel the finality in it as well.
When you pulled away to the elevator you pictured he moved with you. The metal door would slide away and he would back you into the space, lift you against the wall and kiss you. His kisses would become desperate as he reached for your panties, your hands opening his pants again and he'd push into you. He would fuck you against the elevator wall, roughly, needy for you to never leave his side again. Taehyung would tell you how much he loved you panting against your ear with every thrust.
Except you entered the car alone and he smiled at you, not happily but kindly. It made all the warmth from his last kiss ebb away. You didn't know what to do so you waved as the whoosh of the door separated you.

"Fuck." Taehyung whispered then held his breath, counting the seconds. When he was sure the elevator had descended low enough he let the frustration return and he turned sweeping the lamp off the hallway table. It clattered to the ground, light bulb shattering, shade crumbling. He didn't care he ignored the mess and walked down the hall to the living room.
How could he end things? He saw in your eyes exactly how much you wanted him to beg you to take him back. Taehyung hadn't actually expected you to show up tonight. When your name swept into his notifications for the first time in three months he'd frozen. You were almost in his arms. He'd run through the apartment turning down the harsh light and lit every candle he could find in the bedroom.
Tae knew if he'd promised you he'd change and begged you to stay you might agree. He worried it would be temporary. A few weeks or months from now he might mess up again, the same problems you'd had would still be there and he'd ruined your life enough. He'd let jealousy of you moving on allow him to drag you right back into unhappiness. Tae should be happy for you, if you were moving on with Ong Seongwoo he should swallow his pride and let you.
Taehyung lowered to the floor leaning his head back against the couch. The thought of you building with someone else what still existed between him and you made him see red. For all he knew that asshole had taken you to bed multiple times already, or worse you'd fallen for him. Tae punched the side of the couch, but half heartedly. Something else struck him mid punch and the thought swirled in his head.
Tae was on his feet running into the kitchen, the last place he'd seen his phone when he'd been drinking a glass of water when your message came. The glass was still there mostly full but he ignored it swiping the phone into his palm. He dialed and frowned in frustration as the phone rang multiple times.
