You let your hand drop from Tae's and shook your head. You thought you might be sick, you weren't even able to hear the words that came from your mouth next. They were so opposite to what you wanted to say, but they were what you needed to say. Your heart pounded and you felt panic rising in your chest but you pushed on.
"I'm glad we got this moment Taehyung and I accept your apology but our love story is done. I need to get on with my life." You saw his face crumpling inward you could feel how upset he was but you turned and left, you didn't hear him protest or follow. Outside the door Jimin tried to stop you but seeing your face backed away.
"I'll text you later, I'm fine." You didn't even stop as you said the words to him, just kept walking until you reached your mom's car that you'd borrowed that morning.
You weren't going to cry, you'd done that enough, for Tae, for your daughter, for the pity you had for yourself. Jimin was right, Taehyung was still a mess, you could tell just seeing him today and you couldn't spend anymore of your life trying to fix him. It hadn't worked for the three months after her death it wouldn't work now.
You wanted to move on, and even if it made you sad and you were in love with Taehyung, you still needed to do that. You needed to clear your head of someone who wasn't able to love you how you needed and focus on what your future had in store.
Today would have been the day you were supposed to be starting a new life but with him and your daughter, but that wasn't what happened. She was gone, Taehyung wasn't in your life, and you were still living without them. Each breath might feel like fire in your lungs, but here you were each day moving forward. There's was no backward.
You started the car and decided to get into the office early. You were going to wow your boss with the best break down of this debut novel and you'd focus on being promoted editor.

BR: Lunch tomorrow?
YN: I can meet after one
BR: Wear something nice
YN: Why?
You'd gotten back in touch with some of your friends in the last two months, Briar first, who like Jimin had said wasn't bothered by what happened, although she had given him a hard time. Next was Sujin, who you'd not been able to see in person yet, but you spoke with almost daily, both of you carefully avoiding all baby topics. You hoped that it would change, but you were taking your time. You'd had dinner with Yoongi, Hobi and their boyfriends, which ended in lots of laughter and good food. You'd felt bad about it at first, feeling like they all belonged to Taehyung, but they told you how much they missed you.
You hadn't spoken to Taehyung since that day, you'd never unblocked his number. He'd never shown up at your parent's house, or even wrote you a note. You'd been considering moving out anyway, using the money Jimin had brought you. You resolved to stop feeling guilt about things that improved your life.
The next day you found your way into the restaurant Briar had text you, dressed nicer than you would have been had you not changed at work. You weren't sure why she cared what you looked like, but the restaurant was fancier than your normal lunch time bites. She'd said if you got there first to grab the table, she was coming from across town. Of course that's exactly what happened and you followed the host after giving her name.
He stopped in front of intimate two top in the corner, but it wasn't empty. A guy was already sitting there, vaguely familiar.
"I said Briar, I think there's a mix up." You stepped backward from the table and the guy looked up, dark hair falling across kind eyes.
"Are you Y/N?" He stood pulling out the second chair. You knew what was happening, and you didn't know whether to be furious or not.
"Yes, did Briar send you here?" The host had walked away, you hadn't stepped toward the seat yet.
