The next morning I woke to a soft tail brushing against my face

The next morning I woke to a soft tail brushing against my face. The warm sunlight radiated on my skin and I couldn't help but smile to myself. I was home. I waited a few more minutes before pulling myself out of bed. I hastily washed my face and put on some makeup. Light and natural but with killer eyeliner and faux freckles. Glossy lips and curled, bouncy ringlets falling down my back. I pulled my uniform on scruffily, my tie loose around my neck and skirt rolled up a little. Knee high black socks and slightly heeled shoes. My leather jacket was put loosely on and I felt great.

I came out my room to find Reg, Sev and Blaise waiting for me.

"How are you on this fine morning my dear friend," Sev questioned.

"Exhausted. I was up most of the night finishing my book."

"Well then you can only blame yourself."

"That's not fair."

"Yes-"

"No-"

"Yes-"

"Oh my god. Shut up you two. It's too early in the morning. I need at least two coffee's before I even start to think about functioning through potions," Reg argued.

"Jeez Louise. No need to get your knickers in a twist. Honestly Reg," I replied sweetly.

I sat in-between Blaise and Sev while scoffing down waffles covered in cream and chocolate syrup. It was still early so there wasn't many people in the all.

Today was the day. The day we find out our soulmates. If I was honest I did not have much hope as to who would be mine. If I was lucky they would be kind and in the end I might be able to trust them. However, I was not feeling lucky in any way shape or form. My gut was telling me that I needed to keep on guard and not get my hopes up. My palms were already sweaty and I was going through scenarios in my head of my just happen. Fuck. This was bad. Very very bad. Jesus H Christ Florence get yourself together. It couldn't be that bad. Right?

As if he could read my mind Blaise squeezed my knee in reassurance. Smiling at me with those pearly white's.

"It's going to be fine Flo. Don't even worry. Your soulmate is gonna love you. Who couldn't."

He pressed a kiss to the crown of my head and then went back to the conservation reminding me that there were other people at the table and that I should really try socialising for once in my life.

I grabbed the small in my dagger underneath my skirt that Nat had given me. It was beautiful. She had bought me a set of them. Each one unique. She told me that every girl should had a weapon just as gorgeous as them.
