*Author's note*
Okay so this is kinda of a repost/request type thing. This goes out to Madeline_The_Wolf who wanted a Clint Barton fanfic. Now after seeing the request and remembering awhile back how I did a similar plot but just a slightly different version of it, I reached out to them and hopefully this will be good enough for them since they are basically similar just different way in how the reader and Clint are introduced to each other.

It was all supposed to be a simple reconnaissance mission on an old HYDRA base. Apparently SHIELD had gotten wind of an old Hydra base just outside of Minnesota, which was odd because there was hardly anything out there, at least for HYDRA there wasn't. So agents led by Agent Romanoff went in to investigate and retrieve any detail or information that they could, that is until one agent came across a cell, sealed by titanium steal, the same metal as the Titanic.
The agent opened the slot and was shocked to see hidden in the corner was a young child wearing nothing but rags with dried bloodstains against her ears. When the agent managed to open the door, the child was petrified of seeing someone else.
"It's okay kid, it's okay. I'm not here to hurt you." The child tried to hide herself further in whimpering as she tried to hide herself but couldn't. As the agent got closer and closer to the girl, something happened.
In a piercing, agonizing, and painful scream, the agent clapped their hands against their ears screaming in pain as the child kept screaming. Soon the agent's ears started bleeding as well as his eyes as they were about to pop right out of his skull as his whole face turned red.
After what felt like an eternity, the girl finally stopped screaming and the agents fell dead. Natasha who had heard the screaming along with several other agents went to see what the hell it was that caused that horrifying sound. When she saw the agent dead on the floor and she saw the child, she knew things had officially gotten more difficult than the missions intentionally was.
With no other choice, they took the child and sealed her up in a new cage while Director Fury debated on what he wanted to do with the girl. She paced around the cage, wringing her hands, pulling on her hair and rubbing her ears. Any doctor or agent that tried to come near her, she only screamed at them which forced the soldiers to try and shoot her with the tranq-guns but since they couldn't get a clear shot, Fury went with the gas style which put the girl to sleep.
Agent Barton who had returned from his own mission saw multiple doctors and soldier being treated for what seemed like an extreme case of ear infections. When he met up with Nat he asked her.
"So what the hell happened here? Bad case of ear infection?"
"Worse." Nat then pulled up the video footage from the first attack on the first doctor for Clint to observe. And when he saw the video footage, he was shocked to see what he had just witnessed. "We found her at the Hydra base I was supposed to lead my team on, one of my men actually got killed, his brain was practically mush by the time we got back."
"And so what? You put her in a different cage?" Clint asked in a stern tone.
"Not my idea, look I know this girl reminds you of Cooper trust me, it was like having to put him in a cage for me I didn't like it. But it was Fury's orders. We don't know what else this girl is capable of doing. We're trying to run her through the records but nothings come up. We think that—"
"Wait, wait rewind that footage a bit." Clint said interrupting Nat. She looked at her best friend confused but did as he requested. She rewind the footage until Clint said to stop a second later. The video played again and he said, "Play it again, this time slow it down." Nat did as he told her to do and she asked him.
