Wow has it been an era since I last gave a requested update, okay so this here isn't really my best work and I think after this I'll never do another Draco Malfoy story again (please don't try to convince me to try again, writing for Draco proved to be difficult for me and I thought I could do it but I struggled, just like I did way back when I did his father so NO MORE MALFOY REQUESTS PEOPLE PLEASE). Anyways I hope some of you like this not really much warning except for Umbridge being mentioned, Cedric's death (takes place after GOF), some angst and slight fluff? 

He's not so bad after all

Draco Malfoy x baby/toddler reader

A piercing cry echoed through the room. Harry woke up and immediately walked over to the makeshift crib that was in their dorm room and looked down to see young (Y/n) Diggory, Cedric Diggory's infant baby girl. Just a year ago when he and Cho Chang were in the 'honeymoon phase' of their relationship, they got a little reckless and Cho ended up getting pregnant with their child.

Now her family wasn't as supportive in their daughter being pregnant whilst still in school, so whenever Cho went to visit her family on holiday (like now for the Christmas season), they refused (Y/n) so come into their home. Cedric's family however, though disappointed in their son's reckless action, they were still happy to be grandparents to little (Y/n), and they even welcomed Cho into their family and vowed to help support her in anyway possible. But when Cedric died earlier that spring in the Triwizard Tournament, Cho was almost at a loss of what to do.

That was until Harry and his friends vowed to step up and help raise (Y/n). So while Cho went to visit her family for the Christmas holiday, Harry stayed at the school to help take care of (Y/n). He and (Y/n) planned in three days to go over to Mr. Diggory's place so that she could spend Christmas and New Year with her grandparents and then Harry would pick her back up just before school resumed.

"It's okay (Y/n), it's alright. Shhh, shh." He picked her up and held her close to his chest. This was the third time tonight she had woken him up but he never once got angry or impatient with her on why she wouldn't sleep. The first time she was hungry and the second she needed a change (that did not go so well but eventually he got it done) but now he wondered just what she wanted.

Once she felt herself being held in Harry's arms, she began to calm down. Her tears quickly drying up as her cries turned into soft hiccups before she looked up at Harry and began cooing softly. He smiled solemnly at her because even though she resembled Cho almost to a T, she had Cedric's eyes. And just seeing those eyes staring back at him, pained him with regret.

It was his fault that Cedric died that night. If he could've reacted faster or done something first before Voldemort called out the curse, Cedric would still be alive and (Y/n) wouldn't have to grow up without a father. Just like he did.

"You know (Y/n). I don't know if anyone ever told you this but umm.....your father. He was—he is. Probably one of the bravest young wizard's I've ever known. Now we weren't friends friends like I am with Hermione and Ron, but.....he was there for me when I needed him, especially during the Triwizard tournament." he continued to tell her the story of her father until she eventually fell fast asleep.

After the Christmas holiday and the spring semester at Hogwarts began, that was probably the busiest time that the students, especially the Golden Trio ever faced. Which also meant that there was less people to try and help out Cho Chang with her daughter.

"Harry are you sure you can't watch (Y/n) tonight?" asked Cho.

"I'm sorry Cho, but with the OWLS coming up, I can't afford to fail them, especially since Umbridge is seeing over the exam herself."
