My One And Only

Adriel's pov

My days would always start off by my mom waking me up at 8am sharp. That would give me up thirty minutes to shower and get down stairs after that I'd have my breakfast and start my first lesson of the day

I didn't go to school like the other kids in my pack, instead I got homeschooled I didn't really mind. That meant l wouldn't have to interact, I was what you'd call an introverted person.
I just preferred to read than talk
My books took my places that conversations didn't, at one point my in my life mom had asked if l wanted to go to school l remembered declining her offer, l didn't see much appeal in going.

I looked over at my watch and it was 7:55 am. My mom would be up in 5 minutes maybe l could get some pages in this new book l started reading

Reaching my hand to the table at my bedside l took up the book ARTEMIS FOWl the atlantis complex.
It was very intriguing as l wasn't able to put the book down until 2 am last night
l opened the book at page 146 where l had left it last night

"Honey" my mom called beind the door l sighed and closed it
Later l thought

"I'm up"

"Hurry up your teacher will be here soon and breakfast is ready"

That wasn't true she would be here exactly at 8:45 like she always was every morning
"Okay" l answered and got up out of bed heading straight for the bathroom
As soon as l entered l hadn't bother closing the door there was no need l was alone anyway
I stripped down and stepped inside the shower

By the time l was finished showering it was 8:26 a.m l got out putting a towel around my lower half going straight for my closet.
l picked out a black t-shirt with some grey jeans

l got dressed I went downstairs to have breakfast
Mom made some eggs and bacon I took my fork in hand and started eating

"Thanks mom" I said Resting the fork on the table l had finished eating
I got up with my dish in hand ready to help clean up

Ding dong

"Adriel your teacher is here" mom said
I looked down on my watch 8:45am
Right on time
"No need to the do the dishes em" she said looking at the dish in my hand

It was the same thing every morning I'd offer and she'd decline she had explained that she loved doing her daily duties because there weren't much else to do

I nodded and headed to the living room where my dad had let Ms. curtis inside and where I'd always done my lessons

"Hello" l greated
"Good morning adriel, now to where we left off yesterday, ah yes history" she sat down around the table and l joined her

I'd have four subjects for the day Mathematics, history, English language and human&social biology this would usually take 6 hours

"Did you research on what l told you"

I nodded and she smiled

"Why did I even ask that Of course you did" she laughed

The topic we're on was university material we had already passed through most of the other levels quickly, Ms curtis had told me this was because l had an higher IQ than most kids my age

Five and a half hours into my lesson l began to yawn I hadn't slept much last night

"This stuff a bit too easy for you huh?" She had asked
l had already seen our topics and studied them by myself when l had nothing to do so this was like going over

"No, l apologize its just l'm a bit tired" I explained

"Right, l must say you're one of the smartest kids I've taught and after two more weeks I'll have nothing more to teach you"

Surely that wasn't true there was so much more to learn
She must've seen my confused face before replying again "well that of my knowledge anyways, you would need to go to a real university for more higher level education"

"Have you told my mom about this?" l questioned

"I was hoping to speak to her today"

Going to university

the idea didn't seem all that frightening only I'd be attending university with kids twenty and up and l was only fifteen, also it would be a university full of wolfs at that

"Wait another week" l told her l need some time to think about it

"Well that's it for today" she said getting up looking at her watch

The next thing for today was to train with my father out back
I stood up feeling the effects of sitting for six hours straight

I saw my mom coming from upstairs

"Finished already?"
I nodded
"Well" she sighed knowing I had training next that part she didn't like all that much

I excused myself and went out back to where my dad was already waiting for me just as l knew he would be 2 more hours and l could get back to my book

We started we some push ups

After that he started showing me some fighting techniques his dad had taught him

2 hours later

I'd finally finished for the day
Trenched in sweat l went in the house and headed straight for the shower

When l got out l sat around the table in my room and took up the book that had been on my mind all day
