Running from the past

Tripping on the now

What is lost can be found, its obvious

And like a rubber ball

We come bouncing back

We all got a second act, inside of us.

I believe

I believe that we're just one dream

Away from who we're meant to be

Someone pulled out my earphones as I was listening to my favorite song. Yes, Emma bought me earphones too. I turned to glare at the monster that stopped me from listening to Madison Reyes aka Julie Molina's beautiful voice. It was Kyle.

"Can I pitch a ride with you? Ethan and Josh umm pranked my car." He sighed. "Besides, you don't know the way to school so I could show you."

I shrugged. "Sure. But one thing, my car, my playlist."

He smiled and shrugged. "Fine by me."

I walked to the car I now called mine and got into the driver's seat as Kyle entered the passenger seat. We both took in a deep breath. Oh that new car smell!! We laughed and I connected my music and restarted the song I was listening to. Turns out Kyle hates my music. And I don't care. He groaned as I slightly danced and sang to ' Edge of Great ' by Julie Molina and Luke Patterson from Julie and the Phantoms.

"Running from the past. Tripping on the now. What is lost can be found, it's obvious!!" Kyle and I finished the song. Yeah, Kyle stopped pretending that he hated the song and we had a karaoke all the way to school. Which wasn't that far from home.

Kyle found me a parking spot. I parked, grabbed my backpack, my phone and got out. Kyle did the same and I locked my car.

"Welcome to West Brooke High Ella." Kyle said.

The school was much much bigger than my old school. It looked beautiful. Well... as beautiful as school can be. It had quite many students who seemed to be staring at Kyle and I. But I was most likely hallucinating. We walked in and there were even more students. And I am sure they were actually staring at us. I shrugged it off and continued walking.

Kyle and I reached the secretary's office and she printed out my timetable and I was given my locker number. Kyle and I compared timetables. He had his off-head. Turns out there was Greek mythology. Why do they even teach that? Anyway, I am pretty sure that is one class I am going to pass. Kyle and I only had second period French together and that was it.

Kyle excused himself to go talk to his friends after I intently assured him I could do the rest on my own. I reached my locker and opened it to empty a bunch of my books and stuff into it.

"Hey beautiful." A voice sounded from behind me.

I jumped and turned to see who was talking to me. It was some guy with blonde hair and green eyes. "Umm hi" I replied.

"Mind if I carry your stuff even better, skip school and go somewhere?" Skip school! On the first day! Ha! No way in hell.

"No thanks." I said and turned back to my locker.

He grabbed my wrist and turned me around to face him. "C'mon. This place is junk. You can't be so passionate about it. Although I can give you something to be passionate about." He winked and wriggled his eyebrows.
