I probably don't have to go out of my way to explain that the past month or so has been very busy.

But hey, apparently every 15 years or so the ministry just crumbles. It's good to know honestly. (he said, his words dripping with sarcasm)

I mean, it's been a lot of work, but hopefully it'll all pay off and work out in the way we hope.

And the obvious part;

Do I know Aylas pissed at me? Yes, why else would I get radio silence from her all summer? But can I come clean yet? No, not yet.

She's safe with Molly, that's what matters.

• Ayla Blacks POV •

"Okay, but here's the thing, so like, I was talking to this girl Asa, and she's also going to Hogwarts next year, and she said she thinks I'm gonna be a Hufflepuff" Ginny said

"Okay, so, you'd be a badass Hufflepuff" I said

"But my parents-" She started

"Screw what your parents think, I've had none and I turned out fine, plus, your parents will be fine" I said

"Says the person who's already been sorted into Gryffindor" She said

"I have a very good feeling you'll be in Gryffindor, but even if you aren't, you'll have me, your brothers, and your house, you're not alone Gin" I said

"But-" She started

"No buts" I said

"B-"

"No buts"

"Fine" She said as there was a knock on the door.

"Hey, there was a letter for you" George said as he walked in and quickly handed me an envelope before he walked out.

"Be careful, it's George, that could easily be a prank" Ginny said

"It could, but he shut the door, so it's very unlikely" I said

"That's a good point, how do you notice everything" She said

With that I started to open the letter.

'Ayls,'

No.

It can't be.

It's been weeks, why would it be all of a sudden.

'Although there's not much I can say, I just wanted to write and check in.

I know you're mad, and that's understandable, I left with little to no explanation and haven't talked to you in weeks.

But I'm safe, and well, and I'll stay that way, I promise.

"What is it?" Ginny asked

"A sketchy letter from Lupin" I said as I stood up.

"Where you going?" She asked

"To see if I can get more information out of your mom" I said before I walked out.

"Boys I've told you, you can play exploding snaps just not in the house" I said

"Well that kinda takes the fun out of it" Fred said.

"Godric these boys are gonna be the death of me" I muttered to myself.
