Chapter 19- Death Proof Pt2

Archie and I walk into Southside high, we see Jughead on his phone, I can only think he's texting Archie back. We run over to him
"Jug, Jug. We gotta go right now"
"Jug where's Sweet Pea, Fangs and Toni" I ask worriedly
"What are you guys doing here? and I don't know" Jug says confused "what, did Betty ask you to throw salt in the wound?"
"No Jug listen"
"Mayor McCoy is about to raid Southside high. We gotta get you out"
"I need to fine Pea, Fangs and Toni" I say looking around me
"No Aurora we..." the doors bust open and in storms Sheriff Keller with Mayor McCoy. Archie grabs me and Jug
"Arch I need to find Pea" Archie continues to pull us outside. I see Toni
"Toni" I yell, she turns around and starts to run to us but a cop catches her
"Rory, Jug you guys want to help? because you can't do that behind bars come on" Archie pulls us outside and I watch as my friends and boyfriend are pushed into lockers and arrested for nothing.

"Jughead calm down"
"Clam down? Archie Riverdale just became a police state" Jughead yells at Archie while pacing back and forth at Pops. Archie and I are sat opposite in a booth "McCoy's convinced the Serpents are dealing jingle jangle. Serpents don't deal that stuff. The Ghoulies do"
"I know. Rory already told me that. You and Rory need to tell McCoy that"
"Archie you were there, I tried. Even our own dad looked at me disappointed"
"The same Mayor McCoy that just arrested all of my friends, Aurora's friends for no reason?" Jughead sits down next to me "why do you care anyway man? I thought you and Betty wanted nothing to do with me?"
"Yeah I'm kinda confused as well" I sigh looking at my twin
"I'm sorry, both you of, I'm sorry what happened and how it happened and as for Betty, maybe you should talk to her" Jughead's phone pings. He looks at it then looks back at Archie then me
"I've got to go. Tall Boy wants to parley" Jug gets up and walks out
"Yeah I'm gonna go, I need to bail as many Serpents as I can out of jail" I sigh also getting up
"Let me help. As a sorry for acting like a Jack ass recently"
"Fine but if Pea or the others want to hit you that's on you not me"
"Ok fine" Archie smiles at me.

We arrive at the Sheriff station
"Hi I'm here to bail, Sweet Pea, Fangs and Toni out"
"Sign these" the woman behind the desk says uninterested. I take the papers as Archie takes some more
"Thanks Archie" I smile and get to signing. After giving the papers back we wait a few minutes before as many Serpents come out as we were able to help
"Pea" I run up to him and koala bear hug him
"You've really got to stop spending money on me" he laughs
"Thank you Rory"
"Don't just thank me, Archie helped" Pea puts me down and walks up to Archie. He looks him up and down making me nervous. Suddenly he puts his hand out
"I'll be the bigger person here. Truce?" Pea asks which shocks me
"Truce" Archie smiles and the shake hands "but if you hurt my sister I won't hesitate to fight you again"
"Like wise"
"Ahhh my favourite boys getting along at last" I wrap my arms around their waists because I'm to short to wrap them around their shoulders
"Hey what about me" Fangs says pretending to look hurt
"Oh don't be silly your one of my favourite boys as well" I walk over to him and give him a hug
"Let's go home" Toni says smiling.

"Community service? Can't you just ground me like Rory dad?" Archie asks as we all take our dinner into the dining room
"Community service was Mayor McCoy's idea and it's a damn good one if you ask me. Aurora didn't take the drug so hence just the grounding" I snicker at this a little
"You wanna put that trash in your body, you can spend the day picking up trash at Pickens Park"
"Ha"
"I could suggest that you join them Rory if you'd like?"
"No thanks dad"
"I know Jug wasn't at your lollapalooza the other night, but he does go to Southside High. It's ground zero for that crap. You talking to him, checking in? how's he doing? dad asks Archie and I
"Trying to. Rory is able to see and talk to him more"
"Yeah. It was kinda like that when I was trying to help FP. I don't know what it is. A never ending battle with those two. I just hope with Jug it's not a loosing one"
"Me too" I sigh before digging into my food.

Later that evening Archie drags me to Jughead's trailer
"This isn't an alliance with the Ghoulies this is a hostile takeover" Archie and I are sat on othe couch while Jug is pacing back and forth, this is something I've noticed he's seems to do a lot nowadays "god who knows how long Tall Boy has been planning on betraying us. Maybe I stall till the other Serpents get out, I just hope they will rather go to war with the Ghoulies than start" Jug doesn't finish his sentence
"Dealing jingle jangle?" I ask
"Yeah"
"Jughead, you joined the Serpents to keep the peace" Archie says referring to Jug talking about the Serpents going to war
"My dad would never sit back and let this happen, so neither will I. So unless you guys have any better ideas?"
"Not me, but dude what you just said..."
"Archie, Jugs right. I know I haven't been part of the Serpents long but I know them Arch. We can't let the Ghoulies drag them down and turn them into the thing that so many Northsiders are scared off"
"No I didn't mean it like that, FP, he might have an idea"
