Chapter 27- The Hills Have Eyes Pt2

I walk outside in my dark green bikini with a wrap over the top, Pea is wearing a shirt and trunks. We walk over to the pool, which looks to be heated, hand in hand. When we reach the edge I take off my wrap and Pea takes off his shirt and we both lower our bodies into the warm water
"I don't know about you guys but I'm feeling better already" V says handing out drinks before getting into the pool herself "ok full disclosure time. When Archie told me about the kiss..."
"Wait do Pea and I have to be here for this? because unlike you guys we are solid"
"Yes you two are witnesses" V says
"For what?" I ask with a frown
"As I was saying, when I found out about the kiss, I absorbed it, processed it and in the end I bare no ill will toward my beau nor my bestie"
"Ok cool so can we..." I'm cut off by V
"But has the thought of it haunted me these last few weeks? a tiny bit yeah and now clearly, Betty and Jughead are caught up in the aftermath"
"V this really isn't to do with us" I point between Pea and I
"I think to clear the air among us, Jughead and I" V takes a sip of her drink "should kiss"
"What?" Archie says with a frown. I look at Betty and Jug who look like they are actually contemplating it "Veronica are you nuts?"
"We'll wait a minute I dunno. Hold on. Veronica and I kissing? Might help to uh what the, what's the sports term Archie?" Jug stand up in front of V and Arch "uh level the playing field"
"Betty? a little help"
"Your not upset though Jug" Betty says
"No really I'm not but I am human. You know what if a future me tries to used your kiss with Archie against some future you"
"Are they always like this?" Pea whispers to me
"A vughead kiss? Right now in the present might be precisely what it takes to save a future bughead from imploding"
"Ok first what's with these names and second they do realise that it's just high school drama" Pea once again whispers to me
"Not going to lie if you kissed someone else while we were together I would probably do the same out of spite" I look at Pea
"Well it's a good job I don't plan of that ever happening"
"Archie come on man it's just a stupid kiss" that's when V moves towards Jug and they kiss making me feel a little sick
"We're just gonna, yeah" I drag Pea out of the pool and we head inside to have our own little rendezvous.

The next day the boys stay at the lodge to chop wood and 'bond' while us girls go shopping
"So Rory, Betty as mine and Archie's room is in the middle of you both that was some serious hand holding last night. Rory did I hear multiple times? When did this all start"
"I don't kiss and tell" I say putting down a candle
"Betty?"
"The night of tour confirmation"
"Really?" Betty hums in agreement to Veronica
"Well as my abuelita likes to say 'praise Jesus" we move over to the check out area "hi I'd like this and this" V puts down a candle and jar of hunny "oh and the last time I was here you had the most scrumptious scones"
"Yeah my grandma makes them but just during the summer" the man says
"Oh that's when we normally come up"
"I though I recognised you. You got one of those places on shadow lake, but your usually with your folks"
"Yeah back in um.. I was about to say New York, but we're in Riverdale now"
"That hick town, bet they don't even know what do with you there"
"No they do not" ok is it just me or are these people flirting? "what's your name handsome?"
"Enough flirting here" thank you Betty
"Yeah you and my brother are still dating remember"
"What about you gorgeous" the guy looks at me
"I also have a boyfriend, we all do in fact and I'm sure they are missing us terribly"
"My names Cassidy" he hands V the bag and we leave the shop. Veronica and Betty chat more about Betty and Jugs romantic night while on our way back to the lodge.

"Hi, glad to see we haven't killed each other" Jugs phone rings and he goes outside while on the phone. I look out the window and Jug looks pissed. We go outside to see what's wrong
"First your dad buys the drive in, now he owns Sunnyside Trailer Park. As I suspected he is gobbling up the Southside piece by piece"
"Wait what?" I frown
"Slow down. Mr Lodge is evicting people from the trailer park?" Archie asks
"No, technically he cleared us of our debts and revoked our evictions"
"Well does that mean you get to keep your trailer?" Archie asks
"Yes, so why are you outraged?" V asks
"Because it's a tactic"
"Not this again Jughead. It's like the school all over again" Pea sighs
"Sweet Pea it's a smoke screen. PR 101. He's trying to by my silence again"
"Good lord Jughead how much of a narcissist are you?" Veronica yells
"Jughead you wrote an article attacking Mr Lodge, demanding that he makes amends. It sounds like thats what he's trying to do" Jughead scoffs at Archie's comment
"They do kind of have a point" Betty says
"Sweet Pea?"
"If it means I still have a place to live then I don't see what the issue is"
"Look Jug, I know you love conspiracies, but take the win bro and lets celebrate"
