Chapter 19- Death Proof Pt3

"Start from the beginning" FP says over the phone and threw the glass. We have come to see FP to ask what we could do. Jug explains everything about me being a Serpent, him becoming a Serpent and also about Tall Boy and the Ghoulies
"Hey you can reprimand me later for joining the Serpents, but if we don't do something now, there will be no Serpents. It'll just be the Ghoulies" FP bangs the phone on the glass making me jump
"Ghoulies dress like fobs, but they're a nasty crew. The Serpents have survived worse though, much worse. The only hitch is, it sounds like your outmanned, which means you gotta avoid bloodshed at all costs"
"I agree a hundred percent" Archie says
"Me too, so any ideas?" I ask looking at FP
"Outthink them. This is about territory. If there's one thing Ghoulies love, it's their crazy souped up retro cars and hearses. You catch my Riverdale drift?"
"You mean a little fast and furious?" I ask with a smirk as he nods, the boys look at me confused so FP looks around
"Challenge them to a street race, one on one, but keep it on the DL. It's illegal and it'll get you locked up"
"Go on" Jug says
"Set the terms of the race. There guy wins, the Serpents roll over"
"But if we win, the Ghoulies back off"
"And maybe you raise the stakes. Whoever wins controls Southside High"
"And we get rid of the Ghoulies and get rid of the jingle jangle and get McCoy off out backs"
"And I know just the car" I smile
"Ok times up" one of the guards yell coming over to us
"See you soon FP" I say, so does Archie then Jug.

"Hey guys" I say walking through Pickens Park to see everyone picking up trash
"Still can't believe you got out of it, why is Betty picking up trash and not you" Archie sighs
"Because my mom wants to ruin my life" Betty says to us
"Ok well I only came down because I want to talk to Reggie"
"Ooo fed up of the Serpent already?" Reggie smirks
"Get over yourself Reg" I grab his wrist and pull him to the side
"So what? you want a little on the side?"
"Reggie will you just be serious for once? I need to borrow your car"
"Why?" Reggie crosses his arms
"Drag race, Serpents V Ghoulies. Please"
"Been a while since you've begged me"
"You know what this was a mistake, I should never have thought you'd do something for the girl you once loved and also completely broke" I turn around to leave
"Wait" I hear Reggie sigh. I turn back around to face him "sorry, I need to make up for everything I've done some how. You'll need to fix it up a bit for a car race, and I want to be there, but sure you can borrow my car" I smile and Reggie
"Thank you, see on the road to becoming a better person already" I pat his shoulder
"Ok bye everyone I'll be back with Pops later on" I wave goodbye to everyone before leaving.

A couple of days later we're ready at the spot for the race. I'm sat with the Serpents with my new jacket finally around me. Sweet Pea and I are stood together next to his bike
"All right let's do this" Tall Boy shouts clapping his hands. A guy walks over to us and Sweet Pea tightens his grip around my waist
"Where have you guys been hiding this beauty"
"Fuck off Malachai. She's one of us" Pea spits
"I bet she's a good fuck" Pea steps closer as if he's about to hit this Malachai. I place my hand on his chest to stop him. He looks down at me as I shake my head "if you ever get bored with the Snake. Your always welcome at the house of the dead" Malachai waslks off after winking at me
"Who was that?" I ask Pea
"That is Malachai, the Ghoulies leader" Pea says angrily
"He seems to be compensating for something with that attitude and that car" my comment makes the other Serpents snicker
"Let's do it" Tall Boy yells again
"That's my cue" Toni walks past us as Jug and Malachai get in their cars after shaking hands
"Err I usually do the honours" Toni says to Cheryl who walks over with her scarf
"Not today cha cha. I was born for this moment" Toni walks back over to us looking very annoyed
"Is she always like that?" Toni asks me pointing to Cheryl
"Unfortunately, yes" I sigh leaning into Sweet Pea more
"Engines warm and ready gentlemen?" the cars rev. Cheryl puts on her sun glasses then waves her scarf in the air. Both cars shoot off causing everyone to run and yell with excitement.

A few minutes later a Ghoulie starts yelling
"Everyone scatter. The cops are rounding up Ghoulies" Jug and Archie pull up to where we are
"Oh my god your ok" Veronica hugs Archie
"Arch, what's happening?" I ask walking from Pea to my brother
"Come on come on we gotta go right now" Jug says panicking
"You called they cops?" Tall Boy yells "you won't throw in with the Ghoulies but you will with the cops? where's the honour in that?"
"Calm down Tall Boy" Jug yells back "you think I knew Keller was gonna be there?"
"I called Keller" Archie says making my eyes widen
"What the hell Archie? did my dad tell you about this too?"
"No this was my idea to get rid of the Ghoulies. It worked, they get arrested for street racing. They're off the chessboard"
"For how long Arch? a month? three?" I shout at my brother
"You know what they will want on the other side? your head on a stake. All of ours" Jug pushes Archie
"Babe we gotta go" Pea pulls my arm gently towards him, Toni and Fangs
"Yeah I'm coming" I give my brother one last look of disappointment before getting on the back of Pea's bike.
