Chapter 31- A Night To Remember

The next couple of days we get ready for the school musical, which I have decided to audition for. Archie also got a new car thanks to Mr Lodge, insert eye roll here and Alice gave the Serpents a little speech. Apparently while Toni and I were off saving Cheryl, the others were saving Betty and her family from 2 creeps
"I asked jughead to thank you for me but I reconsidered because I wanted to do it myself. So thank you for what you did I also wanted you to hear it directly from me that I am done attacking and disavowing the Southside. It's where I'm from and I should be proud of that and from now on I will be, and like my daughter I will fight tooth and nail for it"

I'm currently in cheer practice, Cheryl wanted to rehearse for her audition so we are currently dancing to 'In'
"To squeeze in, pow why not now" I sing and Cheryl follows me as we do our routine
"When will I belong? look where I am, damn my whole life feels wrong"
"What if I do snap? holy crap I'd craw out of my skin and so would you"
"Cause life just don't begin until your in" we all sing after Toni does her part
"Ok stop" Cheryl shouts and the music ends "ok TT AA.."
"Please don't call me that" I frown looking at Cher
"Sorry. Anyway as I was saying we need to go and change now or we will be late. Quick quick" Cheryl ushers us out to the changing room to change into our normal clothes.

We make our way into the auditorium and sit in a circle
"Welcome to Carrie the musical" Kevin says crossing his legs. Fangs drags a chair in between me and Kev
"Hey Fangs" Jughead says in more of a confused tone.
"Ok next introductions"
"I'm Archie. Playing Tommy Ross, the boy next door
"I'm Betty. I'm playing Sue Snell, the good girl"
"Veronica Lodge, playing mean girl Chris Hargensen" of course Cheryl has to stand up and make a big entrance
"I'm Cheryl Blossom and I'm playing the iconic role of Carrie White" Ethel coughs saying 'tone deaf' I just sit there
"I'm Aurora Andrews and I'm the understudy for Chris Hargenson"
"Who's playing your mum. Margret White?" Ethel asks looking at Cheryl
"I am" I turn around and see Alice Cooper walking towards us
"Mom?" Betty says confused
"Wait seriously" Ethel looks as confused as I feel
"Ok settle down" Kevin says "yes it's untraditional but to me there's nothing more amateur than age inappropriate casting"
"I'm really looking forward to getting to know who this woman is you know get under her skin and of course spend some quality time with my daughter Elizabeth" Alice says. The door opens once again to reveal Chuck Clayton
"Ugh sorry I thought the rehearsal was in the music room" he says
"No problem all are welcome" Kevin says, I look around to see everyone shocked and some even annoyed

"Ok act one scene one"
"Actually before we begin" Cher stands up "I've heard whispering that some of you ensemble vultures don't think I'm fit to play or sing the role of Carrie white" she looks back at Josie
"No" Josie says shaking her head
"So to settle this matter once and for all... maestro"
"Ughhh ok Cheryl" Kevin starts but is interrupted by Cheryl singing 'Carrie' when she's finished Toni is stood up clapping while the rest of us are sat clapping along
"Well I think I speak for everyone when I say that was undeniable Cheryl" Kevin says. Cheryl starts to walk back to walk, I think over to Jughead who has the camera, but as she leave the circle a sand bag falls down and nearly hits her.

Over the next couple of days we rehearse and rehearse for the musical as I'm just the understudy I learn the lines and songs for Chris, but I'm sat watching the others right now sing
"Hey" I turn my head to Cheryl whose sat next to me
"What's up?"
"That should be you on stage not Lodge"
"Cheryl it's fine. I wasn't even going to do the musical this year
"What why?" Cheryl frowns
"Remember last year?" I raise a brow up to her
"You threw up from stage fright"
"Yup. All over you Rizzo" I laugh remembering last years musical Grease
"Well if not this year then next year will be your year"
"Cheryl and Josie your up" I hear Kevin shout. Betty comes to sit next to me "in this scene teacher Mrs Gardener is being a friend when our girl has none, out of shear kindness"
"I'll fake it as best as I can" I roll my eyes at Josie. So what Cheryl had a crush on Josie? yes it went a little far but seriously who would with a mother like Cheryls
"So many years you faced the world alone. Frightened that life might pass you by. Then he appears someone who smiles at you" I hear the auditorium doors open and in walks Sweet Pea "this is no time to question why" he walks over to where I'm sat and sits down taking my hand in his. I look back to the stage and to be honest the scene is so dead between them
"Stop stop"
"Ok Cheryl I'm the only one who is allowed to stop" Kevin says but Cher ignores him
"I can't do this, have you hating me while we're singing a song about friendship I know everything I did was legit crazy Josie but I was wrestling with some dark Carrie White like demons. I'm so so sorry so please please forgive me" they both continue to sing and and at the end of the song they share a hug, I'm guessing they're friends again now?

After weeks of rehearsal the day of the show has arrived. During the last week Betty and Veronica had an argument, but they sang a sing together and are now best friends again. Cheryl was being threatened so is no longer Carrie, Midge is so now I'm here sat next to Sweet Pea and Cheryl. Half way through the performance Alice tells Carrie to come out of the closet, but we see Midge all bloodied stabbed to the set. Words are around Midge 'I am back from the dead' 'All those who escaped me before will die' 'B.H' The auditorium is filled with gasps
"Uh Kevin did you reblock this?" I hear Cher ask
"Yeah why isn't she on her knees?" I ask leaning over Cheryl to see Kevin's shocked face
"I..."
"Somebody should help her. For god sake help her" Cheryl yells then Alice screams. Pea takes my and drags me out of the building.
