Chapter 26- The Tell-Tale Heart

As normal Pea takes me to school on his bike and we end up the lounge before class starts. I sit on Sweet Peas lap as Jughead and Veronica are having an argument
"Veronica are you trying to manage me right now?" Jughead asks
"Define manage" V almost snaps back
"People are going to loose their homes"
"I'm with Jug on this on" I nervously say "Pea will loose his trailer. Archie your being rather quiet, do you agree with all of this?" I ask looking at my brother
"Well erm..."
"Ok why don't you come over with your dad and sit down with my dad, and hash this out like civilised humans face to face"
"Ok, one condition. Your dad comes to sunny side trailer park. I want him to see the people he's going to be displacing"
"Fine and trust me no one is going to be displaced" Jug looks at Veronica annoyed before Kevin almost runs through the door of the lounge with Fangs
"Oh my god. Did you guys hear? my dads scanner is blowing up. The police found another dead body this morning. There's blood everywhere"
"Could the Black hood have risen from the grave?" Jug says in more of a statement than a question
"Did they say whose body?" Archie asks
"Where did they find it?" Betty asks straight after
"The investigations on going, but it was a gruesome gang style execution at the motel. Blood and brains splattered all over the duvet"
"Gross" I mutter
"Ok kev we get it" Archie says a little harshly
"I gotta go" Betty quickly gets up and walks off. We watch as she walks off
"Anyone notice she went really pale then" I say looking back at the others
"Yeah must have been Kevin and his talk about brains and blood" Archie says
"Could this really be the black hood again?" Veronica says
"My guess, yes or is a copycat. I'll go check on Betty" Pea let's me up and I follow Betty to the bathroom. Cheryl walks in at the same time
"Betty are you ok?" she asks
"Do you need some help?" I now ask
"I'm fine guys"
"Let me grab you a towel" Cheryl says about to walk over to the towel dispensers
"I said I'm fine"
"You have puke on your collar. Rory let's go"
"Betty are you sure..."
"Go I'm fine Rory" Cheryl and I smile at Betty and walk out of the bathroom
"Do you think history is repeating itself?"
"Huh?"
"A Cooper or well a Smith is knocked up by a Jones"
"Woah what?"
"You didn't know?"
"No. How did you you?" I ask confused
"Mommy" Cheryl said then walking away leaving me with more questions.

"Hey Vegas, hey boy. Hey" I hear Archie say walking through the door. Dad, Pea and I are sat with a detective. Pea only came over for tea and we ended up like this
"Dad?"
"Hey Arch this is..."
"Agent Adams. Nice to meet you. Your father, sister and her boyfriend were just finishing up"
"I'll see you out" I smile at the man and he grabs his thing and we make our way to the front door. I open it up and let him out before going back to the dinning room where we were sat
"What did he want? Why was he talking to Rory and Sweet Pea
"Apparently the FBI is assisting in a crackdown on undocumented labour from Canada. They think that maybe over the years I've hired some of these guys, paid them cash under the table. They wanted to ask Rory and Sweet Pea about if they have worked for the company. A couple times I looked the other way"
"But they can't take you down for that"
"Archie" I say my brothers name to make him look at me "they can, they're the FBI they can basically do what they want"
"They're requesting my files for the last 7 years. Luckily I've got Rory who's good with the numbers and organising"
"I'll stop by tomorrow after school and make a start"
"They can't do this" Archie yells storming out the house.

"Hey Rory" Cheryl calls me from her locker
"I'll be back" I kiss Pea and walk over
"I just want to apologise for well how horrible I have treated you. Can we put it all behind us and just start off fresh? can we be friends again?" I sigh
"Cher actions speak louder than words"
"I know but please let me show you. I found out something last night and I really need a friend right now to help me decide what to do"
"Ok Cher. What's up?"
"My mom is.. involved romantically with a married man. They have a daughter who goes here. Should I tell them that their father is cheating on her mom?"
"Well I guess if it were me I'd want to know"
"Thanks Rory" Cheryl hugs me "Betty" she walks off to talk with Betty. I'm guessing it's her dad that's having an affair. I walk back to Pea who is now with Fangs and Toni
"What was that about?" Toni asks
"She wants to make amends"
"Do you believe her" Fangs now asks I shrug
"I think she will try. She's Cheryl bombshell Blossom though. I think she needs the attention because she doesn't get any at home. I guess we will see whether she changes or not"
