LGBTQ+ Sunny?

So I was thinking about WOF, naturally, and I remembered there were some rumors recently surrounding the TV Show in that they might make one of the DOD an LGBTQ+ character.

{PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS NOT CONFIRMED, JUST MERE FANDOM MURMURS FOR THE TIME BEING} 

But it got me thinking.... Most people were concerned about the character being Glory or Tsunami or both of them and having them dating (plz, no, give me Ripnami and Glorybringer or give me DEATH-), but part of me wonders if the character will turn out to be Sunny.

As the only one without a confirmed love interest, she's the most likely candidate, as her turning out to be a lesbian or pan or something couldn't be considered against canon, and it wouldn't upset fans by breaking up a pre-existing ship.

Well, it would break up Sunnyflight and Sunkat but SUNNYFLIGHT WAS CANONICALLY SHOT DOWN AND SUNKAT IS TECHNICALLY A FANTASY WE'RE COLLECTIVELY LIVING. The only canon explanation thus far is that Sunny's love interest is someone we've seen in the series that she hasn't met yet, up to around book 8 or 9, AND the gender of said love interest was never specified. See Tui's exact words:

"I do have someone in mind for Sunny one day that I have introduced elsewhere in the series, and if they ever meet, I think they'd be perfect for each other. But it's a matter of getting them into the same place at the same time." (Quoted from an interview she did with csmonitor.com)

I know I've personally just assumed Sunny to be straight, but the more I'm thinking about it, the more her turning out to be a lesbian or other LGBTQ+ related character could be very interesting. My reasoning for this is as such-

1. MORE! LGTBQ! TV! REPRESENTATION!! AND NO CHANCE OF THE BURY YOUR GAYS TROPE!!!

2. MORE REALLY PRETTY FANART CAUSE I'M SORRY PEOPLE, BUT ANEMARIN FANART IS SOME OF THE BEST I'VE SEEN OUT OF THE FANDOM, I WANNA SEE THAT SORT OF EFFORT PUT INTO SUNNY FANART!!

3. THORN AND THE DOD'S REACTION TO HER COMING OUT.

PLEAAAAASEEEEEE, whether you care about this idea at all or not, PLEASE take a moment to imagine Sunny coming out to Thorn. SHE'D BE THE MOST ACCEPTING DRAGON ON THE PLANET. THE SANDWING KINGDOM WOULD BECOME RENOWNED FOR ITS GAY RIGHTS OVERNIGHT (even though Pyrrhia and Pantala seem very accepting already). JUST I M A G I N E  IT. MY HEART IS SINGING WITH HAPPINESS AT THE CUTENESS THIS WOULD BRING.

And the DOD too!!! Clay would be probably confused (cue the vine "I'm lesbian." "I thought you were American"),  but he'd be happy for her and definitely love any girlfriend she brought home- I- I love-

Tsunami and Glory would be chill with it and likely team up to dismember anyone who so much as WHISPERED a bad word about it. 

And imagine if her girlfriend was a badass and her and Deathbringer could hang out and Glory and Deathbringer just chatting about how cool and awesome Sunny's girlfriend is, my heart is soft and I am weak-

Starflight would be understanding too. IDK if he'd get along super great with her girlfriend, but he'd be happy for them. (Fatespeaker would 100% make fanart/fanfiction. Glory and Tsunami would read it, Thorn would get it published).

I just- I'M KIND OF LOVING THIS HEADCANON??

Although part of me can't really see Sunny as a lesbian, I feel like she'd be pan? Sunny has always been so full of love toward everyone that I feel like she wouldn't limit the people she loves to just one gender.

On the other side of the coin, she could be ace and just feel friendship toward everyone cause that seems on brand too and would give another reason why she's hesitant to be Queen, cause she wouldn't want the pressure of producing heirs or something....

I'm just- I'M FULL OF LGBTQ+ SUNNY HEADCANONS RN OKAY.
