I woke up to the sound of talking just outside my room. I was pretty sure that it was Nat and my dad talking about how best to wake me up. I decided to get out of bed and open the door to tell them I was awake. As soon as I opened the door, they both turned around.

"Morning." My dad said.

"Morning dad."

"How's my favourite Rogers?" Nat asked.

"He's doing great thanks for asking Nat, but shouldn't you be asking my kid."

"Oh, I was asking her."

I started laughing at this. My dad wished he were the favourite.

"I'm okay Nat but I'll be better once I've eaten and got dressed."

"I'll make pancakes for us just like your mum used to back in the day." My dad said.

"I bet you couldn't dad. Mum said it was a secret recipe."

"And where do you think she learnt it?"

"Erm, I don't know."

"Me your favourite person in the world."

"You wish dad." I laughed. "I'll be down in about 20 minutes I'm just going to get dressed and brush my hair."

"We'll meet you downstairs. Come on Steve you owe your daughter pancakes."

They both walked away, and I went back into my room to get ready. I washed my face, brushed my hair and put it into a ponytail as usual and then pulled out some leggings and a top for the day and got dressed.

I walked down to the kitchen to be greeted by all the Avengers sat at the breakfast bar or gathered around the island.

"Morning Y/N."

"Morning Clint. How you feeling?"

"Much better. How are you?"

"I'm okay. I'm assuming my dad told you all what I told him yesterday."

"Yeah, he did."

"I'm honestly fine I'll just be happier once I know that my friends are okay. Anyways morning Thor. Morning Tony."

"Good morning Lady Y/N."

"Morning mini capsicle."

"Breakfast is done guys." Nat told us all as my dad started to plate the pancakes.

"Thanks guys." We all said while starting to eat.

After the small talk over breakfast and eating together like we did every morning after a mission everyone dispersed. I decided I would spend a few hours in the training room, which was odd for me, but I could use the extra training.

I got to the training room and connected my phone up to the speaker blasting upbeat music. I began to wrap my hands and walked over to the punching bag. I began hitting it with force and thinking about all the bad things HYDRA did to me and the twins. I'm pretty sure I got lost in my thoughts since I didn't even notice when Nat walked in until she pulled me away from the bag.

"Y/N, look at your hand, are you sure you're, okay?" She asked softly.

I looked down at my hands and noticed that they were bleeding pretty badly and that I'd actually destroyed the punching bag. I mean the bleeding hands was something that was rare, but the destroyed bags were common since they aren't made for super soldiers. Between me and my dad got through quite a few and they always needed replacing.

"Yeah, Nat I'm fine. I just got carried away that's all."

"Come here let me help."

She grabbed my hands and began to unwrap them.

"Honestly, my hands will be fine I'll just heal them."

"It's not your hands I'm worried about. It's you. You've got to have been hitting that bag pretty hard to cut your hands since you're a super solder."

"Part super soldier." I corrected since I only had one super soldier parent.

"Still, I know that you can't get hurt that easily. I've seen you train lots and trained with you and you're just as strong as your dad. I know this doesn't happen that often unless you're angry and taking it out by training. Talk to me." She grabbed my hands and held them in hers. I'd already healed the cuts so there was no more blood and no more pain either.

I never minded talking with Nat. We were the only girls on the team, and we became close friends from the day I arrived. She's been like a sister to me, and I tell her everything including the things that I don't tell my dad. She also seems to just know things so a part of me is waiting for her to tell me what I'm hiding from my dad but maybe she hasn't figured it out yet.

"I was just thinking about what I went through at HYDRA, and I guess I was angry and lost in my thoughts."

"That's obvious but there's something you're not telling your dad. I can tell."

"It's nothing really honestly. It's just the twins and I were really close. They were the only people I spoke to for 6 years and I just left them."

"There's something more isn't there." Nat stated, and she wasn't wrong. I think she already knows and is just waiting for me to say it, but I stayed silent.

"It's the boy, isn't it?" She asked.

"What do you mean?" I asked knowing exactly what she meant.

"You were more than friends weren't you. I mean it's not hard for me to figure out. That guy you dated last year. You told me that you only dated him to help you get over someone else. I mean I'm glad you didn't really love him since he was a dick and cheated on you but that's not the point. The point is there was another guy before him, but I know there was no guy when you were here before him meaning the other guy was someone from before you got to the tower and became an Avenger."

"Wow you really do pay attention, don't you?"

"Well yeah. It's kinda my job remember, I was a spy before being an Avenger. I notice things and I'm also a girl, so I know more than the guys do so notice these things."

"Well, you're right. We were more than friends, but it was complicated. We couldn't exactly be together since HYDRA would use it against us as they did with our friendship and the fact that Pietro and Wanda were twins."

"Complicated or not there was something there and you know it. You loved him. And you're scared of seeing him again."

"How did know that?"

"I may have loved and lost someone once or twice. I know that seeing someone that you loved and possibly still do love is scary."

"It's not even just that. I'm scared to see both of them. In their eyes I just left them and never came back even though I promised I would."

"I'm sure that they know you were looking for them and I'm sure that they are just as scared of seeing you again."

"I guess I'm just afraid that things have changed between us and that they won't go back."

"I'm sure that they have changed but I'm also sure that it's a good change."

"Thanks Nat."

"Now how about you go shower. You stink."

I lightly hit her on the arm "Mean."

"But also, true?"

"Yeah, I do stink." We both began laughing and I made my way up to my room.

I hopped in the shower and changed into some clean clothes and headed downstairs for dinner.
