"When do you think he's going to wake up?" Carrie asked the next morning, looking around at the three remaining marauders.

They were currently staying in the hospital wing, staring down at a ever so slightly pale Remus. There were some new cuts in the flesh of his body and bruises covered his chest. It was a terrible sight for Carrie to look at, however, she needed reassurance that Remus was gonna wake up safely.

"It should be any minute now." James said. "He usually does not get too much sleep after such a night." Understandable.

Sitting down beside Carrie, Sirius carefully wrapped an arm around her shoulder and pulled her closer. He didn't like seeing this scared and worrying look on her face. He knew how much Remus meant to her and as he did to him as well, he understood the fear. However, there was nothing more to do for them.

Thinking back to the past night, Sirius fell into deep thought. Merlin, I love you. The words had fallen past his lips yesterday. He didn't mean to say them out loud, thought they were just little words in his head, however, as he had seen the shocked looks on his friends' faces, he realized that the words had found their way into the open. Sirius didn't even know that it was true until he spoke. But it was. Was true. He realized that when he saw the hope on her face. The worry about people who were important to her and the compassion when all of them came into view. He loved her.

Too bad that Carrie had not heard him. The words must have slipped past her ears as she had taken over the care of Remus. Not having shown any signs of attention, Sirius didn't know wether that was good or bad luck.

I love you. The words still rang in his ears. Sirius could not believe that he said it. Could not believe that he meant them. But he did. After not knowing anything about love, he was sure that this was it. It came natural him and he was sure that everything he felt when he saw Carrie was love. It had to be.

As the time passed, the valentines ball was getting closer and closer. Girls were freaking out about their dresses, boys were gossiping about their dates and the teachers could not wait until it all was over. Some students were sure that even the teachers made secret bets on the partners and dates. One might think they would actually find some fun in this teenage gossip

As well as the other girls, this weekend was the day to buy their dresses. Standing in the dress shop, Carrie was currently changing into the next dress, while Belle was waiting for her to present the piece. She had already tried multiple dresses on, but none of them seemed to suit her. From light green, to dark purple, to a light rosé. They just would not look right on her. There were too many ruffles, too much cleavage, a too tight corset. It had been miserable.

This was the last dress they had found so far and as Carrie stepped out of the changing room, they were sure that they would not have to go looking again. The search was done.

Standing there in a white dress, she fully stood up to her name. Beforehand they were not certain if a white dress was to look too much like a wedding dress. However, did not look like Carrie was going to be the bride to be. She looked like a princess on her special night, trying to find a suitable dance partner.

The dress was simple, yet elegant and absolutely breathtaking. The top was square-cut, highlighting the structure of her glossy skin. The fabric cling tight to her body, as the back was fully revealed, only held together by fine laces. They were tied down to the end of her back, the top of her hip. From the trace of her hip, the dress fell down like a bell, ending just above the ground. You were able to catch a glimpse of her shoes, that were traced by little diamonds and some fairy dust.

With her mouth hanging open, Belle could not help but start clapping her hands together in joy. "This is it, Carrie. This is the dress. You look absolutely stunning."

Not bothering to help the blush rising up her cheeks. "Thank you, Belle." Looking down at herself, Carrie couldn't help but agree. This was the perfect dress for her. It fit in all the right places and hugged her just the way she liked it. At first she had beed worried about the open back, but now she couldn't help but admire the way the laces tried to hide a little something

"Sirius is gonna fall his knees before you when he sees you in this dress. Probably gonna faint as well." Belle didn't bother to hide her snicker.

"Oh, shut it."
