I woke up in a cell. 'I guess I would have expected this with being a wanted criminal and talking back to Belos' I thought looked at the ceiling of my cell. "I mean it is nicer than the other cell, I should thank Hunter for getting me a better cell. It is bigger and has a bed with a window that had bars on it. The only bad thing is that it's super cold, They couldn't least put a heater in from all of have is this blanket.' I thought to myself
I heard footsteps come up to my cell. "(y/n) I got you food" I heard one of the guards say. She was new to the coven only joined two months ago. Her name was Hera she was pretty chill. Talk to me yesterday after I was sent to this cell could we were both dying of boredom. She called me brave for talking bad to the Emperor. She didn't like him and only worked for his cause of the perks that would come with it. Being Housing, food, and money.
"Thank you, Hera... what is it?" I asked looking down at the 'meal'. "I honestly don't know it looks disgusting!" she said truthfully. "Yep not eating it," I said pushing it away. "It's the only thing that you can get till lunch! Just try it!" Hera told me. "I'd rather stave then!" I told her laughing at the pathetic food. "Fine but I have to leave and the food stays here if you get hungry. Okay?" She asked walking away. "Yeah, yeah I got it" I yelled before she left.
A few minutes later I heard more footsteps come to my cell. It was Kikimora, Belos, and Hunter. "Hello (l/n) I wanted to ask something from you," The Emperor said calmly. "I'm not doing jack shit for you Belos," I said looking him straight in the eye or well the eyeholes of his mask. "Don't talk to the Emperor like that!" I heard Kikimora yell at me. I rolled my eyes at her. "Hunter comes outside with me for a second," Belos said. "Y-yes sir," He said following the Emperor.
"You should learn some respect you know! The Emperor could kill you if he so pleases." Kikimora told me. "Let him I don't care" I snapped back. Hunter came back in "Kiki Emperor Belos wants you" He told her. She walked off and Hunter sat down outside of my cell. "(y/n)"
"Hunter?"
"The emperor wants to... turn you into stone but there is a way you can safe yourself. Join the coven!" Hunter told me. I started laughing "Hunter let him kill me"--I stopped laugh looking straight into his eyes"I would rather die than be a guard for him"
"Please (y/n) I'm not kidding just say yes! Please I know you don't like covens but this is your life we're talking about!" Hunter yelled at me. "WHY DO YOU CARE IF I DIE OR NOT!" I asked. "CAUSE I CARE ABOUT YOU...I know I shouldn't but I care about you. You're the first person I consider my friend" Hunter said looking down. "H-hunter I-" I tried to spoke but nothing was coming out. "You have till tomorrow to make your final decision. But please just join" Hunter said. He looked sad as he walked away from me. "I'm sorry Hunter" I whispered tearing up.
*time skip*
"HEY (Y/N)...is everything okay?" Hera asked me. "Well, I had been crying for 2 hours so no I'm not," I told her. "What happened?" she asked. "Sit down this might take a while," I told her. She sat down
"Okay, so I had met the Golden Guard before. He was a cocky bitch but after talking to him he wasn't as bad as I thought. We meet up one time and everything was so peaceful. Then the Palisman thing happened and we just became better friends. Now I'm going to die soon-" I explained but was cut off by Hera screaming "YOUR DYING SOON?!" "Well yeah it's that or I join the Emperor's coven," I told her. There was silence for a few minutes. "what if I help you break out?" I heard her whisper. "WHAT NO YOU COULD LOSE YOUR JOB!" I told her. "But I don't want you to die and you will if you stay here. I have a plan that might work." She told me. "Fine what is it," I asked. "Okay so you know how every Guard going to sleep at 8 and new ones come in for the night shift well there are five minutes where no one is in the halls. So in that five minutes, I would need to unlock the cell and well... you have a palisman right?" She asked. "Not on me," I told her.
"Okay, you'll need a staff. You can just use mine" She said. "where is the closest window?" she asked herself. "Why?" I asked, "well I can have you jump out the window and make an illusion of you running away in the castle while you escape!" I told me. I thought about the plan It was pretty good "Fine let's do it!" I said.
"Okay I have to go now I'll visit you later!" Hera said walking to the door. when she opened it Hunter was there. "Oh, Golden Guard what brings you here?" Hera asked getting on one knee. "I heard your escape plan. I want to help you" He said. "Wait really?! But you could lose your job or maybe even something worse!" I told him. Hunter walks up to my cell "Yeah I could, but like I said before your my only friend and I'll be damned if I let you die," He said. "So I'm helping. I could fly you home." He said. "fine but we have to be very careful!" I told both of them. "Yeah, yeah but we must leave now. See you later (y/n)" Hera said. With that, they both walked away.
(Hunter's pov)
We walked out of (y/n) holding cell. It was silent till Hera said, "You like them don't you." I blushed over my mask. "Well of course I like them. They're my friend" I said calmly. "I mean more than a friend. The way you take care of them is more than just being friendly" She said. "I don't like them like that! Plus we would never be able to be anything more we're on different sides. They're a wild witch and I'm the Golden Guard it would never work" I said. "We shouldn't even be friends but we are," I said looking down. "Yeah, I guess," Hera said.
*time skip*
(y/n pov)
'They would be here any minute' I thought pasting my cell. "(y/n) we're here" I heard Hera say. "How are we looking to unlock the cage?" I asked them both. "I have all the keys," Hunter said. "Okay, then hurry!" I said. He unlocked the cell. "Come on!" Hunter said grabbing my hand. I blushed and ran with them. "Okay, we're here. Bye Hera I'll write letters for you!" I said hugging her. "Come on we don't have a lot of time!" Hunter whisper shouted at me. "Okay, okay bye Hera," I said getting on hunter's staff "Hold on tight we're going to have to get out of here fast!" Hunter said and I started hugging his torso. I blushed at be so close to him then we took off. "Wait before I go home we should go to the spot we first hung out at!" I told him. "Are you sure you don't want to go home right now?" He asked slowing down his staff once we were far away from the castle. "Yeah, I'm sure!" I said.
When we had gotten there I jump off his staff. "This would be a great place to play music," I said looking over the cliff at the water. "Yeah, it would," Hunter said taking off his mask. there was a comfortable silence. "Hunter, why are you helping me? What if the Belos finds out and you get sent to a cell or worse what if he kills you!?" I asked starting to panic. "Hey, it's okay (y/n) if I do die at least you'll be safe." Hunter said. "I'm being serious hunter what if he finds out! It would be my felt!" I said starting to tear up. "(y/n) I'll be fine okay. Come on I'm taking you back home" He said getting on his staff. "Oh okay"
While flying no one said anything. "Land here so Hooty doesn't see you," I told him. He landed and we both got off his staff. I hugged him "Please be safe Hunter!" I said. "I will (y/n)" He said hugging me back. "I should go now. Goodbye for now" I said. "Goodbye," He said. "Can I do something before I leave?" I asked. "Ah I mean sure," He said. "Close your eyes" I demanded. He did and I kiss his cheek and ran away.
(Hunter pov)
I felt their lips on my cheek. 'Did they just kiss me?!' I thought my cheeks and the tops of my ears feeling hot. I kinda like it
