The Rescue

Edrics pov

"Hooty?" I gasped.

"Did i help?" Hooty smiled, whacking a gaurd away with its head.

"Good job Hooty," Eda smiled, stuffing the mystery bag back into her hair.

I ran to Hunters side as soon as i was free, scooping his head into my lap.

"Hey Ed." He grinned weakly.

"Hey Goldie." I kissed his forehead, "wanna get out of hear?"

"Yup." He smiled, yawning, "titan everything hurts right now."

A blunt purple fist knoked Hunter out suddenly. I gasped in surprise.

"Ive had emough of this!" Belos roard. His abominination slime glowed purple as he towered above us.

I gulped. "Hunter?"

"Yea Ed?"

"I dont think were gonna get lucky this time." I winced, bracing myself for the final blow.

"Hooty get them of hear!" Eda yelled, "Luz, lets ditch this place!"

"Cya Bitch!" I head Eda yell, there was a blinding flash of light. And the smell of smole filled the air.

Suddely hunter and i were engulfed in darkness. I heard another thump, and an even more enraged roar from belos.

I couldent see, the space was so cramped i could barley move and yet it was so dark we could have been in outer space.

I hugged hunter tightly as i felt my breath slow. Was i dying?

I felt the tight walls around me convulse and move around.

I stroked hunters hair, trying to hold onto reality but as the minutes passed i felt myself slowly drifting away.

Thats when i saw a bright light coming from a small hole in the distance.

"Hooty just spit them out already!" A muffled voice said.

Seconds later we were spat out onto the floor of the owl house.

"Are they breathing?" Another voice said.

"Eda?" I mumbled, trying to sit up but my arms collaped under me.

"You need sleep kid." Eda said, scooping me up.

"But Hunter? Is he ok?" I said, trying to wriggle from edas arms.

"Hes gonna be fine." I was set down on a pile of soft blankets, "dont worry Ed, your safe now."

Hunters pov

When i woke up it was somtime in the afternoon, my muscles ached but i felt alot better now that i had slept.

"Ed?" I called out.

"Edric is still asleep." Luz said, walking in. They were carryingin a bowl of soup. My stomoch grumbled.

Luz gave me the soup and as i ate it i tryed to think back to what had happened.

Belos put me through hell all my life, stole my boyfriend, tryed to kill me. And now i dont have a home, a family or even a job.

"Fuck." I realised.

"What?" Luz asked, handing me a cup of water.

"I dont have anywhere to stay." I replied, putting the now empty bowl down.

"Oh, me and Eda were just discussing that,  and we decided that..."

"You can live with us!" Eda said, bursting in, "congratulations, we are your new family! If you want us to be that is..."

"Would you really let me?" I gasped, "but ive been working for Belos! You folks should hate me!"

"We never said we dident hate you Hunter." Luz said, folding her arms.

"Be nice to your new brother Luz." Eda laughed, ruffling their hair.

My eyes went blurry. "Brother?"

"Yup sad boi, and there is nothing you can do about it." Luz grinned.

"Thank you." I smiled, "Giving me a home, it means alot now that Belos..." i paused.

"Aw, you dont need to talk about it if you dont want to." Eda smiled,  picking my bowl up, "just stay hear and rest, ill send Ed up hear when he wakes up.

About an hour later i head a knock on the door.

"Come in?"

Ed poked his head in and when he saw me he smiled.

"Hey Ed." I grinned as he plopped down next to me. "Crazy night huh."

"Yup." Ed sighed, leaning on my chest, "im glad your ok."

"Glad your ok too." I said wrapping my arms around him, "i was so worried when you got captured."

Edric turned around on my lap so that he was facing me.

"It was pritty scary." He agreed, tucking the unruly lock of hair behind my ear again.

I blushed, and wrapped my arms around him tighter, pulling him in for a kiss.

I sighed happily, things were starting to look up again.
