If I remember correctly I know how to shoot a basketball to the hoop since I can throw a dodge ball at Leo's face, I know that it is a stupid way to put it but it is

I look at Leo, Jeremy, and just a few friends who are staying for us to finish detention. If not pressured I can throw it and be accurate at the target but seriously I can't be under this pressure with everyone looking at me

I can do this at the gym because my mind was clouded with thoughts of how I can get back at Leo for stealing my pizza rolls
"Come on Carly! You are taking so long" Brittney shouted to me, she was sitting on the hard concrete floor with her phone at hand

I playfully rolled my eyes at her and just threw the ball having no care if it went in or not, the basketball did not go in but it hit the metal part of the hoop and it is going to hit someone. I spun around quickly to warn the person but she got it
"I must say doll, you are really bad at this" Sage held the basketball in one hand and a designer purse in the other

I grinned at him as I put my hands in my jacket pockets "where did you get that?" I motioned to the purse

"Oh, this?" He said merrily "it's from grandma's bag collection, she gave it to me as a gift" he showed it off to Brittney and Natasha's face, I didn't put too much to use on the purse since I'm not really into purses but damn I never knew that Kevin knows a lot about purses

Kevin just came and overheard Sage and the girls talking about the purse, Brittney thought that it was a good idea to ask Kevin about what kind of purse that Sage was holding and with a straight face he said "that is a Hermes spring-summer collection purse from 2020"

All of our jaws dropped, I look at Leo
"Do you know about this?" I asked him and he shakes his head rapidly, I look to Jeremy if he is hearing the same thing we heard but his eyes and attention were glued somewhere else or better yet someone else

He was admiring Stacy who just came in the court, Kevin has his eyes also glued to Stacy too

"Looks like there will be rivalry" I let out to myself, I felt two arms are hugging me by my shoulders and put their face at the crook of my neck. Leo was hugging me from behind and I can feel his warm breath on my skin
"Looks like this is a difficult situation" I stated as he looks to where I am observing

I dug my hands through his dark hair and answered
"Yeah, looks like this will be a tough one"

"How did you manage it?" Leo asked me an unusual question and I was confused
"Manage what?"

"That you could be a potential daughter of a psychopath who experiments on people's genetics" he whispered in my ear, I let out a small laugh

"Leo we cannot be sure yet and I'm not ready to know what my real origins are" I turned my head to look at him from my shoulder
"So until we can manage to find more information about me, we should continue living our everyday lives" I gave him a grin

"But what about asking your parents?" he asked me and I giggled a little

"Leo my parents told me we got into a car crash, how would they know my real origin if I cannot even explain this bizarre hair or who I am? and they haven't told me everything so there's that too"
He nodded along with my statement and didn't continue to question me further

The incident about what happened back at Merlin's mansion is that we all agreed to keep quiet about it because if we let out important information one of our lives might be at risk just like that incident back at the laundromat, heck the guy didn't hesitate to hit and tried to kidnap me

Thanks to Leo I wouldn't be here right now, I kissed his temple and he closed his eyes as I do it. We were still in that hug position and enjoying each other's warmth

I feel my phone ring and I took it out of my pocket and read the address
"It's Merlin" I said and Leo peeked at my phone as I put it in a video chat

Merlin appeared stressed and his hair is chaotic like he hasn't combed his hair in months
"Hey idiot what is happening? You look like you escaped from a mental institution" Leo joked

"I'm not in the mood to joke right now Xavier, I am with Hunter right now" he notified us

Me and Leo looked at each other of what is all the fuss about and Merlin kept continuing to explain to us
"Remember that photo album in the chest back at the Lakehouse in Evergreen Lake and I said that I have a relative that knows how to restore pictures"
We both nodded to Merlin

"Yesterday someone broke in the shop and stole the album and some money" Merlin explained to us and I gasped as I cover my mouth to process this information, the album was our biggest clue and we lost it!?

Merlin is seen rubbing his temples in the video chat
"Since when did you get this information?" Leo took my phone and asked Merlin

"I just got the information today so me and Hunter are going to the shop to see if we can find anything that can lead us to the robber"
"Great we'll meet you there just send all of us the address"

Merlin nodded to Leo and they ended the call, I heard my phone ring at the notification
"He sent us the address" Leo told me

I heard the others got the notification too and we all look at each other, the only person that was confused and doesn't know what is going on is Jeremy and Sage
"It looks like there is an emergency" Kevin told the both of them

"Can I come, I might be able to help" Jeremy is a nice guy but not the guy we need right now
"No need I think it is just a minor problem" Stacy replied with a slight smile at the corner of her lips and Jeremy's cheek has a slight blush

As we leave the court I shot a sorry look to Sage's back as they both leave at the other end, I don't want both of them to be involved in all of this
