RAFE'S POV
It was the day after Hurricane Agatha hit and damn, did she do a job to the island. The whole town lost power and my dad was pissed at me for not being able to get a generator. In my defense, this wasn't our first hurricane. We should've had a generator to begin with. But, my dad wanted to wait until a couple days before the hurricane was supposed to hit for us to get a generator. The whole town was preparing for this storm, who's to say they didn't sell out?
I didn't know if my dad bought the excuse that they were sold out of generators, but he hasn't bothered me about it since, which I was glad for.
Topper and Kelce ended up coming over and I was so relieved to see them because I knew my dad couldn't get mad at me around my best friends.
"Yo, there's Sarah," Kelce pointed as we began to walk towards the backyard.
"The hell is she doing?" I asked as I took a sip of my drink, watching my sister stepping around a bunch of wires.
"Sarah, be careful!" Topper shouted.
Sarah looked over at us and smiled before walking over to a boat that washed up on land. I heard Rose scold her since there were wires down all around and inside the vessel.
I smirked to myself as I watched her climb inside. I wished she would get electrocuted. And just as that thought left my mind, Sarah screamed before falling down, the smirk on my face growing.
"Sarah!" Topper called out as he began to run over to the boat. Kelce and I followed behind him as I saw my sister lay there lifeless.
Sarah held up one of the wires and waved it around before standing up and laughing. "It's disconnected." She laughed.
I shook my head as I now walked up to Topper who was frozen in place. I lightly patted his shoulder before holding onto it.
"Congratulations," I told him. "You are officially her bitch." I patted his shoulder once more before taking a step back.
Topper looked pissed, and I couldn't help but chuckle as I took a sip of my drink.
"Yeah, well, I'm sorry that I care." Topper said sarcastically as Sarah now walked over to us, a smile still on her face. She made me sick.
"C'mon Top," Sarah chuckled as she wrapped her arms around him. "You gotta admit, I got you good."
I saw Topper roll his eyes as he walked away with Sarah, leaving me alone with Kelce. As I watched my best friend walk away with my sister, I couldn't help but stare at them in pure disgust. I hated that my best friend and my little sister were dating, but there wasn't anything I could do about it. It was what they both wanted and I had to respect that.
"So, where you been man?" Kelce now asked me, taking a sip out of the red solo cup in his hand.
"What do you mean?" I now looked over at him.
"You've been M.I.A. for the past couple days." He said. "You missed golf yesterday." He reminded me and I cursed to myself, remembering why I missed it.
"Yeah, I uh," I thought for a second. "I had something come up."
"Oh yeah?" He laughed. "Like what?"
"Don't worry about it." I told him. I couldn't tell him that I was getting the best head I'd ever received. I couldn't tell him I was sneaking around with the new girl in town. I had to act like everything was normal.
And while I thought back to why I missed playing golf with my friends, Scar resurfaced my mind and I felt my lips lift into a smile. I quickly had to wipe that smile away so no one would question me. I couldn't believe just the thought of her brought a smile to my face.
