End of an Era (A/N)

The picture above is probably one of the most beautiful things I've have ever seen. All 89 smash characters gathered together like this. And standing in the center is the first and last of the characters on the roster. The total culmination of more than 20 years of hard work from the Smash development team. This is the final smash DLC character and he's one of my favorite video game franchises in the whole world. I was almost in tears watching his reveal trailer, some from seeing Sora in smash, some from hearing that astounding music, and some from knowing that it's the last one we will see. It really brings me back to when me and my brothers were just starting out in Melee. We didn't have the pleasure of playing the N64 version but we still loved the series anyway. From struggling to beat Metal Mario and Luigi in Melee to battling the forces of light and dark in Ultimate, It's really been one hell of a journey and to see it all come together like this is saddening but also it brings a certain joy. I think bittersweet is the word for it, or something close. Now I understand that the Smash series has had it's ups and downs and not everyone likes another anime swordsman but I really just feel so exuberant seeing the trailer and watching it all blend into a vivid collage of fighters from multiple genres. In my own completely honest opinion, I feel as if Sora was the perfect final character. My reasoning is that he literally radiates light and friendship. Sora is known for being someone that brings everything and everyone together, and seeing him making it into smash as the last character did that in my opinion especially at the end when he shook hands with Mario. I know some people may not feel that way as well but truly my heart is all warm and I had fun getting up to watch the directs. Some characters I didn't fully like or enjoy playing as but I still bought them anyway. Not out of pity or anything like that, but just so I could see that complete roster on my screen... and I really can't wait for Sora to drop so I can look at all those characters again and smile. Smile knowing that I was able to live in a world where this game was created, smile and know that someone's life work is finally complete. If this is the end I just want to say. Satoru Iwata, Reggie Fils-Aimé, Masahiro Sakurai, and of course the Smash Development Team... from the bottom of my heart, thank you. For giving all of us a series that we won't soon forget, for giving us a way to escape the negativity of our modern world and jump into one where people can fly, cast magic, and even shoot peanuts out of a gun. Seriously, It truly was an experience and a pretty damn good one at that. I can't really speak for everyone but that is how I truly feel and if you feel the same way let me know. I want to hear everyone's experiences good and bad. If you want to rant the go ahead and let no one judge you...
