Female Monsters (Monster Hunter) X Male Reader

Update

Hey, I just wanted to check in and say that I'm working on the next backlog chapter, Fowl Play: Kulu-Ya-Ku, and the next "main story" part at the same time along with practicing digital art as well. So that's why it's been a bit slow lately.

I've also realized that I've been out of the game for a while, and my descriptions aren't really the best. (When were they ever, honestly) As such, I'll be adding images back to the chapters.

Anyway hope you'll have a good one and I'll see you in a few days.

Also here's a little stupid bit about something I noticed.

Indeed, it's just another day in Astera. Y/N and Kei were chatting it up until they realized something.

Y/N: "Hey doesn't it feel like we're missing someone?"

Kei: "Huh? What do you mean?"

Y/N: "You know, It feels like we're missing some important characters... like they were just up and forgotten about."

Kei: "Wait... now that I think about it, yes I do feel like we are missing some people."

The duo ponders the thoughts and then Kei stops and nods.

Kei: "Wait a minute... Mai! How could I forget about her?!"

Y/N: "Oh yeah, your cousin or something right?"

Kei: "Yeah..."

Kei then puts her hands over her eyes and shakes her head.

Kei: "How could I forget about her? I would never..."

Y/N: "Now that I think about it... where's P/N?!"

Kei perks up and then realized this as well.

Kei: "Wait, that is true!"

Y/N: "How could I forget my partner... There's something weird going on, Kei and we need to get to the bottom of it."

Kei: "Yeah! We need to find our friends! This is a full on investigation that requires our utmost attention!"

As the duo makes their plans, a peek into the background reveals Mai and P/N sitting at a table and watching them.

Mai: "Took them long enough."

P/N: "At least they remembered."

Just then, Sean walks by and then stops before turning to look at them.

Sean: "Oh that's right... I forgot about you two. Sorry about that, and you haven't even gotten your own chapter yet, Mai. I really should make that happen... oh well. Backlog it is."

Mai: "Right, right... just whisk me out of the story and suddenly put me back in. No one will notice at all."

P/N: "Same with me..."

Sean: "Yeah, that is my bad. But don't worry. I have a plan and it's completely fool-proof. Here's what's going to happen. A ship comes into port and drops P/N off and then, Mai, you show up because you had to go home to do... stuff?"

Mai: "Really? That's the best you could come up with?"

P/N: "Yeah, seriously?"

Sean: "Okay, okay, look... I'll do some mumbo jumbo and slide you two back in somewhere, okay? They won't even notice I did it. Besides this is just a little extra bit while I work on the other stuff... filler if you will. It'll be fine, i promise. Just wait for a bit, okay?"

Mai: "If you say so, I don't even remember my own role."

Sean: "Well I had you down as my handler but then I started getting way into the bits with Jackie and Xeji and it kinda just phased you out, so yeah, my fault."

P/N: "And me?"

Sean: "I had you penciled down as love interest for Y/N but then Kei came into play and I focused more on her than you and... yeah sorry. I'll revise roles for you both... I just need some time to think about what they should be. Gimme said time and I promise you'll be ready for your second debut..."

Sean then nods and walks off to do some thinking. P/N and Mai both sigh as they watch Kei and Y/N continue to plan out their search mission.
