Prelude To A Fancy Party

A/N: Just a boring sexless filler chapter until I get things back in order.

The following hours are filled with nothing but peacefulness. Y/N's relaxing in his bed, while Vivi flies around the room. The door slowly creaks open as Kei enters and then blinks a bit as she notices you lying there.

Kei: "Well, it looks like someone had fun."

She says with an eye roll.

Kei: "You're a weird guy, you know that, it's what I love about you though, you don't judge... but I guess if you're tired, then you don't mind me looking at your stuff."

Y/N chuckles before relaxing a bit more, to which Kei shrugs and starts to walk around his room, rearranging things and also rummaging through his stuff. Kei then pauses for a moment before she snaps her fingers.

Kei: "That's right, Y/N, I've got a message for you."

She flips open her quest book and then nods as she pulls out an envelope. It's sealed together with a light blue stamp that's oddly cold to the touch.

Kei: "Looks like you're headed to the Hoarfrost Reach for a little get-together."

Y/N opens up his eyes and looks at her.

Y/N: "Wait, what do you mean by that? I'm going to a party or something?"

Kei nods fervently, and she blinks a bit as she walks over to him and hands him the envelope. He opens it and then reads over the wording. It words itself as.

Dearest Y/N,

"It has come to my attention that you've garnered a well-known reputation within the monster circle. I've heard tales of your escapades from some of my strongest allies, and I wish to see if their stories ring true. Please come to the Hoarfrost Reach, as you hunters call it, I have a special occasion planned for you. You may bring a friend if you wish to do so."

Kei: " Someone that calls themselves Queen of the Ice, but yes, that seems to be the case."

Y/N thinks for a moment and then decides.

Y/N: "Alright, I guess we'd better get to Seliana."

Kei: "We?"

Y/N nods as he shows her the letter.

Y/N: "It says to bring a friend, so I'm choosing you."

Kei's face lights up red as she blushes and kicks her feet gently on the ground.

Kei: "You're taking me? Like... is this a date or something?"

Suddenly, there is a knock on the door. In order to calm herself down, Kei goes to answer it and is greeted by Jackie. She stretches and yawns and wobbles in place a bit before leaning on the doorframe for support. Eyeing the letter in Y/N's hand, she chuckles and smiles.

Jackie: "You've got one too, eh? Sean and Xeji are getting ready, so you should do the same"

Kei: "You aren't going?"

Jackie shakes her head.

Jackie: "I'm currently not in the best shape to be moving around right now. Believe me, I would love to go, but my legs are almost like jelly at this point. I just came to tell you that you should be getting ready to go."

Kei: "Wait... why are we getting ready so early?"

Jackie: "It starts in like a few hours."

Kei's eyes widen as she panics a bit.
