After the revolutionary war, Tatsumi was able to survive the fight with the emperor. No longer willing to stay in the Empire after seeing so much death, so he leaves in search for a new start in his life, and this journey starts with a girl named Ry...
Tatsumi has been taken down and Ryuko just got her heart ripped out of her body. COVERS begin taking over the citizens of Honno-town and everyone is scrambling to get out of there alive.
Ragyo: *Still holding on to Ryuko's beating heart* How beautiful. How brilliant, there aren't many humans that can merge with the Life Fibers so perfectly. There's no doubt, you are my daughter.
Mako: Oh my God! Ryuko is the director's daughter!
She feels herself getting pulled into the air and turns around to see that she is getting pulled into a COVER.
Mako: Somebody help meee!!!
One by one Mako's family tries to jump for her but she was too high up. Even Gamagoori tried to save her but he was tackled by the COVERS.
Gamagoori: Mankanshoku!!!
Mako: Please someone help!!!
Her cries went unanswered as she was pulled up and consumed by the COVER, much to the despair of her family and Gamagoori.
Gamagoori: *On the verge of tears* Mankanshouku! Dammit!
Tatsumi was just barely able to hear Mako's cries for help, as he cursed himself for not being able to do anything about it. He picks up his head and sees Satsuki on the ground laying underneath some rubble.
Tatsumi: 'She's way too strong. Need to do something. Can't evolve, too dangerous, so...'
Meanwhile, Ryuko was incomplete distraught after seeing what happened to Tatsumi, and now hearing that RAGYO of all people was her mother, she refused to believe it. She cuts Ragyo's handoff.
Ryuko: No. No not you Tatsumi, anyone but you.
Ragyo just picks her hand up from the ground and points to Ryuko's heart, which quickly reenters her body.
