The streets of Shibuya were calm, isolated, and quiet. It was an unordinary sight considering how crowded the place usually was. Ever since the Metaverse had begun fusing with the real world, no one really knew what happened to them, if everyone had decided to take refuge in their homes or if they had already died to shadows if they had nowhere to go. It was an unnerving sight, but not as unnerving as Haru blitzing through the entirety of the, now, ghost town, nearly avoiding the many objects that were in her path. Meanwhile, Ryuko and the rest were trying their hardest to try and slow her down.
Haru: Hahahaha. This is very exciting.
Ryuko: HARU, SLOW DOWN!!! WE'RE ALREADY IN SHIBUYA!
Ryuko's words flew on deaf ears as Haru was too occupied with running over the multiple shadows that were in her way all while humming a tune.
Noir: [Mumbling] When you die, where's your god? I can't keep holding it back.
Ryuko: Is... Is she singing?
Mako: Woah, Haru is scary when she's happy.
Ryuko: I'll say. She's giving Gamagoori a run for his money with those driving skills though.
Mako: He's gotten better!
Ryuko: Huh? What's with the change Mako?
Mako: Oh, sorry about that.
Before Ryuko could question her friend further, Makoto and Futaba drove behind Ryuko.
Makoto: Sorry about Haru. She can get... Passionate, at times.
Ryuko: Not sure if that's the word I'd use. By the way, how's Ann and Sumire.
Futaba: She's learning just fine. I mean it can't get worse then when Ann went the wrong direction and ended up almost crashing into the nearby big bang burger.
Ann: That was an accident!
Sumire: It's okay Ann, you're trying your best and that's all that matters.
Ann: Thank you Sumire.
Futaba: Yeah Ann, it takes some time for people to be able to ride a motorcycle correctly and not almost crash into fast food chains.
Ann growls at Futaba while Makoto just sighs. She'd given up on trying to mediate the other girls a long time ago. They had somehow managed to survive Haru's horrific driving and were now near central street. Ryuko looked around for any changes in the environment but found none.
Ryuko: This is the place, right?
Ann: Yup. This is it. It looked a lot different back in the metaverse though. Back there was money laying everywhere, and there were human ATMs running around.
Ryuko: Human ATMs?
Makoto: They were a representation of how Kaneshiro viewed people. ATMs, just waiting to be cashed in and when they run out of use, they drop dead, cold and alone.
Ryuko: So, he's a scumbag.
Futaba: That's a good way to sum it up.
Sumire: I heard that he was the one forcing Shujin students to sell drugs for him.
Haru: Yeah, I even heard that he forced girls to prostitute themselves.
Ryuko gives a slight nod, slightly proud of herself for her decision to not let Tatsumi deal with another one of these, he's already had his fair share of underground criminal networks. On the other hand, now she had to deal with an underground criminal network.
