In the year where Lily was in a seventh year and Lysander has left school, they exchanged letters back and forth constantly. Here's a couple:

My dear Lysander,

I miss you a lot. Can you come back? McGonagall wouldn't care, I don't think. Is it possible to forget what someone looks like in a year of not seeing each other. You're my favorite person in the world and your not here WITH me. I have to sit with Alice and Erika.

Don't get me wrong, I love both of them. But, we don't have nearly as many interesting conversations to match the ones the two of us have had.

I guess I have to get to class, so I'm ending this letter. Again, I wish you were here, Ly.

Lily Flower,

You know I'd visit you every day if I could, but I have to travel with my parents and brother. Sure, I wait in the hotel or wander the place we've travelled anyway, but I want to spend one more year with my family before I go off and start a new life.

Just remember that I'll be waiting for you at King's Cross. You'll recognize me right away, I know, and I'll recognize you. Can I really live more than a year without the girl I love AND my best friend. I'm barely making it through, either.
