Levi woke up, muffled noises and blurry surrounded him

He could hear a distant voice, calling out for him.

Who was there?
What time was it?
What happened?

He looked down at himself
Levi was laying in a puddle of his own blood

"Levi? Levi it's me, Erwin."
Erwin was knocking on his door.

Levi couldn't muster a response

"Levi! Are you doing alright?"

Erwin sounded....worried

"I'm....fine."
Levi's voice cracked

"What happened? You hadn't showed up to breakfast?"

"Wasn't hungry. Leave me alone."

Levi stood up, trying to stand on his feet.
He reached out his hand desperately trying to get a grip on anything by him.

He reached out his hand and leaned forward, falling with a large thud.

"Levi! Are you alright?!" Erwin shouted, still at the door

"I.....tripped."

He started crawling on the ground, digging his nails into the hard wood.

The short man slowly made his way to the bathroom, clinging onto the sink to stand up.

He was covered in blood.
It dripped down his sleeve onto his chest, getting on his pants too.

The wound wasn't that large but it was deep.
Levi couldn't tell if his veins were visible or if his vision was just that blurry.

He's gonna be fine. He's been through worse.

The short man desperately held on to the sink, his small hands slipping and sliding from all of the blood.

He turned on the water, shoving his hand under it

"Agh! Fuck!" It hurt.

He silently dropped on the ground, careful not to make too much noise

He crawled over to the cabinet and opened it with his foot

Levi took out some disinfectant and bandages

He poured it straight onto his wound. He was in no condition to carefully clean it with a cotton swab. It stinged.

After it was wiped with toilet paper, a bandage made it's way onto Levi's wrist, sealing it

He squeezed it as tightly as possible without stopping his circulation.

He sat down for a bit, trying to clear his mind

Humanity's strongest solider layed slumped on the bathroom floor, leaning into the door with slightly ragged breathing.

It was surely something you don't see every day.

Levi quickly got up, his head still fuzzy but his vision clearer

His hands rushed over to his shirt, unbuttoning it and sliding a hand across his abs

He was sure tiny for a solider that strong

Coated in semi-dry blood, he looked like he just left a war zone.

He took a small towel and wrapped it around his bandages, tying the knot with his teeth.

Thoughts stopped trespassing his mind when he stepped in the hot shower. Water streamed down his face, coating his waxy hair.

Levi was careful not to run his bandaged hand through the warm liquid.

He realized how stupid this had been of him, as if he wasn't aware already.

But it felt deserved.

He was in the scouts for years, he's been through way worse. He'd done..way worse.

Isabel and Farlan dying?
His whole squad getting wiped?

Those were his mistakes. That was his point of view.

He failed to protect Isabel and Farlan, he failed to protect his squad, and now he failed to protect his best friend and their beloved.

Why did this....series of events....hurt him so much? Sure, Hange meant a lot to him, but so did the others. Was this minimizing their suffering?

Stepping out of the shower, his feet made a splashing sound on the hard floor.

Levi decided to put the clothes aside, not bothering to wash them now. Unusual for Levi.

Wrapping a towel around his waist, he left the bathroom.

"Hello Levi. How are you this morning?" Erwin had a suspicious look on his face

"Shit.", Levi muttered, "I'm perfectly well, danchou."

Erwin wasn't convinced

"Look, if this is because of the breakfast thing I just wasn't hungry. End of story." Levi spurted out

"No, no it's-" Erwin realized that Levi is standing almost naked in front of him

'It'll be more suspicious if you act too defensive, Smith.' Erwin though

"Erm. I was just about to tell you that Mike and I will be heading outside of the walls for a few days."

"How many days?" Levi's mind raced

"Precisely 3."

"Alright..Erwin. If that's all, please excuse me while I put some clothes on. And next time knock for fucks sake." Levi spat out,a bit overly rude, like he didn't deny entrance the last time Erwin actually knocked

Erwin caught onto that fact

Erwin is leaving Levi all alone. After everything that happened. And now he's announcing it so matter-of-factly.

Like it's a minor inconvenience.

"Ah. I see."
Erwin didn't have it in him to argue

Levi was going to be alone once again.

Erwin left the room, Levi following closely behind him.

It was time to train with eren.

As Levi headed in the direction of the training grounds he saw something in the corner of his eye.

Erwin was greeting Mike with a grin on his face. A complete contrast to his previous facial expressions.

Levi couldn't help but feel a bit jealous.

"Heichou!" Eren was waving at Levi

"Hello brat." Levi barely moved his lips

God is really against me uploading this huh
I've had no internet for 3 days...I've spent like 4GB of mobile data

This chapter is shorter but I personally think it's better than some of the other ones

It's more detailed if that makes sense lol

The next chapter is where the plot thickens and I'll try to make it longer than this one
