MATTIA

"Come on, babe"

Athena stood at the front of the car, looking back at me impatiently. I locked the doors, taking her hand.

"I'm here, I'm here" I said, leading her inside the event hall. She held onto my hand as we felt everyone's eyes on us. This was the first time we were coming out as an engaged couple. And we had all made the mutual decision that her Father's birthday dinner would be the best first appearance.

"Happy birthday, Papa" said Athena, giving him a hug as he kissed the top of her head. I watched them smile at each other, she definitely got her warm aura from her Dad. Which was surprising and strange  considering how icy he was when I'd first met him.

"Thank you, my daughter" he said, looking over at me and giving me a small smile.

"Happy birthday, Sir" I said, shaking his hand firmly. He laughed at me, facepalming.

"Mattia, you can call me Dad now" he said "you're marrying my daughter after all". I raised an eyebrow, a grin spreading across my face as I agreed to it.

"I love how you guys are getting on now" said Athena, taking her phone out.

"I mean we have to considering I'm marrying his daughter" I smirked, placing my arm around her waist and pulling her closer. I inhaled her heavenly scent as we both smiled for the picture.

"You look good tonight" I said, placing my other arm around her waist and letting her lean back into my chest.

"So do you, babe" she said. I placed my chin on her head whilst she put her hands on my arms.

We looked good together. Unmatched energy was what we bought to the party. Every so often, a couple would look at us and then look at their significant other in annoyance. It made us laugh every time.

ATHENA

I placed my head back against his chest. The party was long and tiring and I just wanted to be wrapped up in my sheets next to him.

"Can we go home?" I asked, hearing him laugh.

"No we cannot, we have to stay till the end, it's your dad's birthday party" he said. I rolled my eyes and sighed, looking around at everyone. There were still people arriving even though it started 30 minutes ago. I breathed slowly, watching two blondes arrive.

"Mattia" I tapped his arm repeatedly, standing up straight and pulling away from him.

"Hm?" he looked at me, placing his hands around my waist as I turned my body to face him "you look good, let's actually go home"

"No, oh my god" I said, moving his hands impatiently as he became confused "can you not be horny for a second?"  He started laughing as I placed my hand behind his head, moving my lips to his ear.

"Look who just walked in, 3 o'clock" I whispered. As I waited for him to notice, I turned around too, looking at Joey and Cassie walk in together.

"Why do they look like that?" said Mattia, stifling a laugh as I placed my hand over his mouth.

"Stoppp" I exclaimed, trying not to laugh myself as everyone turned their attention to the matching outfits couple. Mattia moved my hand and held it as we both looked at them.

Joey was wearing a yellow suit and so was Cassie. They both looked around angrily when they saw the elegant wear everyone else had chosen.

"You told me it was fancy dress!" shouted Joey, walking over to my Father with his finger pointing.

"Even if it were, you still wouldn't have passed as bananas in pyjamas" said Dad, the room erupting into laughter as they both turned red.

"You should know" he continued, adopting a more serious and threatening tone.

"I don't like men who play with my daughter's heart"

Joey's face turned red as he turned to face everyone else. He caught my eye and came over to me, Mattia taking a step in front of me.

"Step away whilst your arms are still intact"

"You think you threaten me?" he glared up at him as I tapped his back gently, causing him to move out the way. I faced Joey as Mattia reluctantly stood at my side, keeping a hand on my back.

"The yellow really brings out your teeth" I said, giving him a pleasant smile. Laughter went around the room again, much to his despair.

"You're going to pay for this" he hissed at me, making me raise my eyebrows as Cassie appeared.

"Me? But it was Father who-"

"It's your worthless heart that I played with-"

"Enough!" yelled my Father, making everyone jump.  He called security who escorted them both out as Mattia stayed with me.

"Are you okay?" he asked, looking me up and down. I nodded but he grabbed my hand "you're not"

He lead me outside and I took a few breaths, trying to calm myself down so I didn't burst into tears over being threatened like that in front of people.

"It's okay, deep breaths" whispered Mattia, rocking me in his arms as the cold air hit us. He kissed my head, making me smile as he tilted my head up.

"He's not going anywhere near you, I got us, baby"
