Cole smiled to himself and tucked his phone away, leaning back in his chair and fiddling with a pen as his Professor droned on through his lecture.

Class ended at what felt like fifteen million years later. Shoving his laptop into his bag, Cole scooped it up and hoisted it onto his shoulder.

James stared at him quizzically. "I've never seen you so desperate for coffee."

"What can I say? I'm a regular Lorelai Gilmore."

James' expression didn't change. "You're meeting up with Adam, aren't you?"

"You can fuck right off."

James laughed, patting his shoulder as they climbed the steps of the lecture hall to the exit. "Well, I've got to go speak with Meisler about overloading a unit next semester. I'll see you later?"
