"Hmm? Tha- Ah."

She seems to have some difficulties talking to me. I'm assuming it's because her first impression of me is quite distorted. However, complicating things won't be necessary.

I simply bowed down and walked away. I have yet to know the details of the pageant, and what my role would be.

Suddenly, I felt a light tug coming from my shoulders. I looked back and saw the girl that misunderstood me.

"Thank you." She said, before sighing out of relief, and walking away.

I simply nodded back and headed towards an empty seat.

My role as a host is certainly troublesome; as I also need to wear different outfits accordingly. There are 4 main themes for the pageant: Casual, Cosplay, Summer, and Culture. Each one of the themes directly translates to the outfits one should wear. Whether it be civilian wear, princess-like outfits, etc.

Contestants have the right to choose which outfit they would like and wear it for free. Hosts, such as me, have no said rights and are forced to wear what the school will provide.

I do not have a problem with such matters. In fact, it saves me the trouble of choosing which outfit stands out the least.

Speaking of standing out, I can't not stand out. I apparently have to be the one that moves the pageant. My role consists of: a Q&A questioner, an Outfit announcer, or basically what other hosts would do.

One minor problem, however. I need to speak quite loudly in front of all of the 1st years all at the same time. I have no particular experience in such a thing, nor do I wish to do it.

I would like to have an audience with the Student Council President and ask him why he dumped such a troublesome job on me.

I'm quite confident that I managed to not stand out. I've made no progress in making friends, nor did I put in the effort during discussions.

So, why would he pick me? Ah.

He must've noticed the stare-off between me and the Magenta-haired guy. That was certainly careless of me.

Well, push comes to shove, I'll pay the Student Council with my abundant amount of points, and be freed from this job.

After all, anything can be bought in this school.

In any case, I'll pay the President a visit tomorrow, and set up a deal. I'm sure he would let me waltz in unannounced, after all, he gave me a job I would never have imagined I would do.

Also, I doubt I would have to pay anything that would cost me a fortune. I have more than 2 million points as a first-year.

"You wish to decline?" President Manabu said, blatantly examining my nature.

"Yes, I have prepared the necessary points to decline."

He looked at me and simply grinned.

"And what makes you think you have enough?"

"Of course I do, now tell me how much you would like me to pay."  I boldly added.

"There are two hosts. If you wish to refuse, would you not feel bad?"

Hmm? This guy is trying to provoke me. Or rather, trying to draw out my inner nature. However, he'll most likely fail in doing so.

"That's quite a hard question to answer. I came here solely for declining the offer, I did not quite expect the Student Council President to pry about a girl's feelings."
