"Auradon prep, originally built over 300 years ago and converted into a high school by my father when he became king." Ben explained the history of the school as he walked around the compound with the VK's following shortly behind and his sister and clingy girlfriend on either sides.
Daisy flinched at the sudden shrilly, high-pitched scream and turned around to see Carlos jumping to the arms of Jay, who did not look worried or pleased. Slight concern formed at his frightened expression. "Carlos, it's okay."
"My father wanted his statue to morph from beast to man to remind us that anything is possible." Ben assured and Jay rolled his eyes and dropped Carlos to the ground with a thud. Daisy giggled and extended her hand to the help him up which he accepted, the two ignoring their blushes.
"Does he shed much?" To almost everyone's surprise, Mal actually cracked a joke.
Ben smiled and stared at her eyes, adding in. "Yeah, mom won't let him on the couch."
Audrey glanced between the two, sneering at their unbreakable gaze before breaking it herself by dragging the puzzled Ben inside the dormitory. Mal only rolled her eyes and followed along with Evie and Jay. Daisy was about to get in as well when she noticed Carlos clap his hands, frowning when the statue remained still.
Already knowing of the small catch that it only worked with those having royal blood, Daisy went beside him. "Why don't you try again? Sometimes, the magic is a bit slow."
Carlos did not reply but followed her suggestion, clapping his hands again and not seeing Daisy lowly do it at the same time. A wide grin which Daisy found captivating broke into Carlos's face at the instant morphing of the statue.
"That's so cool!" He childishly exclaimed and Daisy laughed with an agreeing nod. Realising that he was actually socialising and showing his 'weak' side to someone else, Carlos abruptly cleared his throat and walked off, Daisy coming shortly after in confusion.
"So you guys have a lot of magic here in Auradon? Like wands and things like that?" Was what the frowning Daisy heard Mal ask when she caught up to Ben and Audrey, unaware of the guilty eyes towards her.
"Yeah, it exists of course, but It's pretty much retired." Ben said and like stereotypical twins, Daisy added in, "Most of us here are just ordinary mortals though."
"Who happened to be kings and queens."
Ben and Daisy only chuckled but Audrey boasted in her usual chirpy, annoying voice. "That's true. Our royal blood goes back hundreds of years." Her and Mal shared another fake laugh before sighing and rolling their eyes which brought back the same awkward atmosphere.
Audrey attempted to force Ben's arm around her shoulder but to Daisy's relief, her brother escaped his girlfriend's clutches and ran at the sight of his friend and the leader of the marching band, Doug. "Doug. Doug, come down." Ben called, bringing down his friend to his side.
