DANIEL's POV"Dude, I saw her just now," I tell Boma, my closest friend, who is sitting on my desk. He cocks a brow at me.
"Who did you see?"
I lower my voice, "Sam".
"Oh!" a smirk crawls onto his dark lips. "Wawu". He waggles his brows at me and I shake my head. Boma is different from most boys in my class and that's why he is my friend. He is good-looking, a dark beauty if you ask me. He is very wealthy since his dad is a civil engineer that handles the country's big projects. Such a guy should be proud and spoilt since his parents give him everything he wants but Boma is down to earth and he takes his education seriously. That's why we are close. The only thing he does that I don't agree to is that he dates a lot. He changes girls like they are pair of shoes. When he is tired of one, he meets another. He is fond of spoiling them with money and that's what I don't fancy about him. I guess he does that because he likes having attention on him. His parents hardly have time for him so he dates girls and spends his parents money on them because he knows they don't like that. Even though he does it, they never punish him or give him time. They still ignore him with a glare on their faces. I've tired my best to stop this behavior of his but be begged me to leave him because it keeps him sane. I don't know what to say regarding that but I pray he finds happiness in God and not this worldly things. I've been trying my best and so far, he goes to church now. That's a good step. I'm glad.
"So what did you say to her?" he asks, his mischievous smirk still in place. "I hope you weren't staring like some idiot".
"No na," I burst into laughter and shove my hands into my pocket. "I spoke like a cool guy".
"Hmmm...I don't trust you. Are you sure you didn't bore her with your science talk?"
"We didn't even talk long enough for me to do that," I chuckle and bounce on my heels. "I'm just so glad we talked. It's been long since we ever did".
"As if Sam talks to anyone! She doesn't. She only talks to her football team player and some guys. I don't know why you have a crush on a snub. She go crush your heart ehh. Just watch and wait. Do you know how many guys' hearts she has broken?"
I sigh and now my head. "Many!"
"Exactly"
"That just makes me like her more. She doesn't fall for a guy's appearance or account balance. She's unique," I tell him with my shoulders squared with pride.
"Ode! Be looking for unique girl there. Mtchew! Me na any girl I find, I go date," he shrug. "What am I using uniqueness for? If she gets asset, I'm good to go".
I pull my hand from my pocket and slap his shoulder. "Stop this rubbish talk"
"I'm a guy na. This talk suppose be. I'm not like you na. I don't form gentleman," he scowls and punchs my arm.
"Hey," I yelp. "You are being too brutal to my biceps brachii. Are you trying to break my humerus?"
"Blah! Blah! Blah! Nerd!"
"Correction," I smirk. "Hot nerd".
"Werey!" He punches my arm again.
"Boma, I go beat you oo"
"No go find babe. Be moving mouth," He chuckles and hops off my desk. "Another girl just told me she loves you. She said I should give you this...."
My eyes fall to his hand. He gets a box from his bag and gives it to me. I scan the gift in his hand.
"Take na," he tells me.
"I can't. You know why na. I can't take any gift from my secret admirers," I shrug. "I don't want to exploit them or play with their emotions. I'm seriously not interested in any of them so why should I take their gifts?"
