This one that I'm not seeing much comments from my readers...🥺 I hope you are enjoying the book tho.DANIEL'S POV
"Congratulations!"
"Congratulations!"
"Congrats"
It's all I have been hearing today. During assembly early this morning, they had announced the newly appointed prefects. I'm the Head boy and I thank God for that. However, we all don't understand how Nora got to be the Head girl. She doesn't take her academics seriously and she is playful, bossy and rude. Who am I to judge? I'm sure the school management has its reason for choosing her.
"Abegi! I'm sure her dad paid bride because there is no way Nora can be head girl. Do you know how many smart and responsible girls we have in SS 3 as a whole?" Boma mumbles and groans. "Nonsense and corrupt".
"Are you sure?"
"Any mumu can figure that out," he replies. "I feel the school doesn't like Sam that much that's why they didn't give her sport Perfect and she is so qualified for that post too. This is clear injustice."
"True," I nod.
"Hey, Head boy" Nora sashays to our desk and stands at our front. "As the Head girl, we will have to work together alot. Guess what? Some students have started calling me your wife. Can you believe?"
I stare at her with a straight face.
"God forbid oo! You are not our Head girl oo. I rather don't have any Head girl sef. Ah ahan! What kind of bad prayer is this sef? Dan, no mind am. She can never be qualified to be your wife," Boma raps out and hisses.
Nora eyes him and sneers, "I was never talking to you, fool".
"Dan, you see what I'm saying? Does she look qualified to you?"
"You are right, Boma. She isn't qualified. They could have just picked Anna or that girl in Art class as Head girl. They are hardworking and intelligent. What kind of thing is this?"
Boma bobs his head. "We are in a school with a corrupt system. Wow!"
Nora sends daggers at us and storms off. She bumps into a girl that pours insults at her. The girl rushes to me. "Hello, Head boy. How you dey na?"
I smile. "I dey oo! What about you? How's our Social Perfect doing?"
"I'm good oo. Just socializing," she winks and I burst into laughter. This girl is a funny girl. She's right for the post. Her name is Kendra and she is a Commercial student. "I have something to talk about though".
"Okay! I'm listening," I gesture for her to take the chair beside me. She does and draws it closer to me.
"Firstly, God forbid!" she exclaims. "I reject it for all of us in this school. How can that stupid Nora be our Head girl".
Boma groans and stretch his hand for a high five which Kendra gladly slams. They nod in agreement and I shrug.
"Is there a way we can get her off the post?" Boma asks.
"We can try tho," a mischievous smirk crawls on her lips.
Boma chuckles. "I like this girl. You are a good girl".
"Abi na," she slams my arm as she laughs. "Ehen! Danny".
"Yeah?"
"I've spoken to the Principal and he likes the idea. He says I should get the approval from the Head boy and the Head girl too. We don't have Head girl but we have a Head boy. So what do you think of us organizing a Students' Week program?"
