I woke up the next morning, tired. We have training in a few hours. I had breakfast and got ready, now me and Leah are laying on her bed, my head is on her chest and she is playing with my hair.
"you okay?" she asked, sweetly again. My heart-
"As long as i've got you. I'll always be okay" I couldn't see Leah's face but i knew she broke into a smile as she tightened her grip on me.
"Yeah?"
"Yeah"
"i love you, soph"
"Leah, you're still my ex-girlfriend, you know" I joked.
"Trust me, i know but one day, i'm going to marry you"
"surprised you haven't done so already" I chuckled as did Leah
"why's that?"
"because of how in love you are"
"confidence i see"
"well, i'm not wrong, am i?"
"No, no you're not"
"exactly. I am surprised though"
"i was going too. You see- Look, when i kept disappearing every night, it's because i was going to see Jordan and Beth. I was trying to figure out the best way to do it- To make it happen but then the fight happened and then i ended it because i didn't know what else to do. One day, Soph. One day, i will marry you"
"i feel so stupid now. I'm sorry"
"you don't have anything to be sorry for. Maybe it just wasn't the right time then"
"guess not"
"but now, i've got you. You're here, with me and we're okay"
"yeah, we're okay" I smiled.
Me and Leah were just chilling and i was going through my photos and i found an old one of me and Leah, we were holding the FA cup in Arsenal shirts, we won it two years ago, in our second professional season. I posted the picture on instagram but also showed it to Leah.
"omg we look so young!!"
"i know. You look so much happier than me in the photo though"
"haha. I do, don't i? Wait, we have matching nails" Leah was right. I remember that. Before the game we both decided to paint our nails black and match.
"Yeah, that was so cute"
"i love winning trophies with you" Leah said as she planted a kiss on my head.
"I love being here with you. Everything we've been through. All the years, all the ups and downs and here we are, together"
"you're my person"
"well i hope so because you're definitely mine"
"of course you are, love. Want to paint our nails the same colour?" I smiled at Leah.
"aww, look at you being cute. Of course, what colour though?"
"black. Just like in the picture"
"Yeah, okay. Let's do it"
Me and Leah painted our nails black.
