Day 10: Translucency

(This honestly just randomnly came to my mind ngl)

Dream watched as his brother fought against a group in rage, tentacles whipping around and stabbing those left and right. Ink seems to be working together with Nightmare as well, and honestly, seeing Nightmare launch Ink into the air so he could use his red paint on the attackers was a cool move. Glancing to another side, the Bad Sanses was fighting behind Nightmare, on the opposite side of the circle. Knives swinging, bones piercing and screams of rage rang through the air like a battle cry.

In another area of the circle that seems to form around Dream, He saw Blue, Reaper, Fresh and Geno, fighting together in one fluid symphony. One dodging and another attacking, even doing combos together. They all had a look of hatred in their teary eyes.

He then looked up at the sky, seeing strings all around the area, decorating the sky as if it was just a simple party. SOULs, bodies and all the likes hanging from the strings.

He then glanced from th ceiling and to his side, seeing Error, who seems to be staring at something with tears brimming his eyesockets. Dream frowned, he didn't like that look on the glitch...

Dream then looked around again in curiosity, he wonders why they were so mad. Especially since they're fighting as if their life depended on it too... Either that, or it's as if they're fighting for someone. Dream then glanced towards the glitch again and carefully reached to wipe his tears away, but stopped. Frowning, he then ended up sitting down besides the Glitch and leaning against him, hugging his arm. Error was a lot taller and bigger than he remembered...

Despite the yells and the cries of his friends and family ringing out, he couldn't help but find peace in it, find the silence and enjoy it. Closing his eyesockets, he then lets out a small hum.

"I'm SoRrY." Error couldn't help but whisper quietly, a few more tears shedding. Dream looked up at Error and then frowned. Why is he sorry? What had even happened...? He then glanced around the others again, seeing that they were dwindling down now as the humans and monsters that was fighting against them was diminishing. Well, it was to be expected anyways. They're fighting against Gods and Immortals.

Dream wishes he could fight with them, but he was in no condition to do so really. And it annoys him to no end. He then glanced back up at Erroe, who then turned towards Dream and then gave a shaky smile. "YoU dOiNg OkAy?" Error whispered quietly, Dream giving a soft smile and nodding. "Mhmm..." "GoOd..." Error whispered before he then began to fold the the pieces of shredded clothing on his hand.

It's been a while since he had spoken honestly. Error then eventially puts away the dusty clothing into his inventory and carefully pulled Dream into his lap. Hugging him and burying his skull on the back of his.

Dream didn't mind. He got to spend time with Error after all!

Soon enough, the opposing team had began to retreat as they seem to have realized how little their numbers have become. Running and portalling away, but Dream knew that Error and Nightmare would just find them again and kill them off. That's just how they are after all.

Silence rang through the Anti-VOID. The kind that Dream didn't like. Shifting uncomfortably, Dream heard footsteps. He then glanced up and saw that the gang has crowded around Error and himself. And the first sob rang out, followed by another, and another.

"It's not fair..." Blue cried as he then turned and buried his skull on Geno's shoulder, who was trying his damndest to not cry, Reaper just bowing his skull sadly. Nightmare was just comforting a sobbing Ink, rubbing his back carefully while trying to fight back his own tears and failing. Dream just glancing at all of them before feeling Error shaking as well.

He then carefully held Error's hand, turning and giving Error a kiss on the forehead. "It's... It's okay... Ru..." Error simply shook his skull, sobbing more and Dream frowned. He doesn't like it when his family is sad.

"Reaper, is he still..." Nightmare trailed off and Reaper slowly nodded. "Who... Who can..." Nightmare whispered as Reaper then stayed silent, floating towards Error and then carefully patting Dream, who then hummed, smiling softly at Reaper. "Error." Reaper whispered and Dream nodded carefully  "H-Ha... Makes... Makes sense..." Cross sniffled, wiping his eyesockets as Dust carefully rubbed his back. "They are m-mates after all... Soulmates in f-fact..." Cross choked out.

"R-right..." Blue sniffled as Geno then carefully pulled Blue into his lap and kissed his forehead gently. "How does... When...?" Ink whimpered quietly. "Five..." "Five centuries." Reaper spoke and Error shakily nodded. "That's... That's fine. We can- we... We can wait for th-that long..." Blue shakily nodded at Cross' statement.

Dream couldn't help but smile at that before blinking when Error pulled his body closer to himself. "It wasn't even... Why are they so cruel...? What did Dream ever do to- to them...?" Blue choked out and Nightmare frowned. "I don't know either Blue..." Nightmare whispered. "Did you collect the dust, Error?" Geno asked and Error slowly nodded. "Alright... Keep it safe..." Reaper smiled when Error lughtly glared at him. "O-oF cOuRsE i'Ll KeEp It SaFe." Error grumbled lightly and Killer couldn't help but snicker a bit at that. Error rolling his eyelights and then wiping more of his tears. "C'mOn... We ShOuLd PrEpArE tHe StUfF..." Error then catefully stood up, holding Dream in his arms. "Wait..." Reaper hummed a bit. "My... My crown..." Dream then pointed at the ground. Reaper blinking. "Ah, right, sorry." Reaper then flew towards the dusty crown, carefully picking it up and setting it on Error's skull. Error glaring at Reaper for touching him. Reaper just snickering softly while Nightmare chuckled. Error then simply sighed and adjusted the crown to fit him. Not caring of the dust that sprinkled it.

Five centuries... Yeah, they can wait that long.
