Venti POV
I was turning the corner heading home from class when suddenly I saw Xiao talking to Albert who looked like he had cornered Barbra again. Barbra usually walked with friends or a large group to keep this from happening but I guess she couldn't today. I kept my distance and decided I would interfere once I knew the situation a bit better or if things got too heated. "What's your problem?!" Albert said. "Leave the girl alone your a fucking creep." Xiao remarked
"I'm not doing anything I just wanna hang out with her." Albert continued. I never understood why Barbra never told anybody except me and her girlfriend. She could have told the teachers and I know mom would definitely expel Albert most likely go as far as court but she never did say anything. At that point I could see that this was about to turn into a full on fist fight. Barbra could too. I checked my watch and it was almost time for the next grade to get dismissed so there were about to be students flooding the hallways. Barbra just stood there in the corner looking distraught like she didn't know weather to run or say something or to just stand there.I decided that I needed to interject.
"What's going on here?" I asked turning the corner as though I hadn't been listening to them the whole time and had no idea what was going on. Once I walked over I stood in between Barbra and Albert just in case though. I made it look like I just stood there unknowingly as much as possible. "Is everything all right?" I asked. "Oh! Venti everything is fine. I was just asking Barbra for another autograph for my little sister!" I knew full well Albert was just scared that I'd go and tell mom if I found out like I didn't already know. "Well school is almost out for the next grade and we wouldn't want to get caught up in hallway traffic would we!" I said. "Well how about after school. Barbra maybe you could come to my house." Albert continued. This guy just didn't know when to quit. He tried getting around me to Barbra but I shifted where I was standing again to keep him from doing so. Xiao had remained silent but seemed pretty pissed off at the guy too. In the nick of time I heard the bell ring. "Well that's our cue time to head out!" I said
Before Albert could protest I grabbed Barbra and Xiao's hands and made a run for it while the hallway traffic started. Instead of going outside with them I took Barbara and Xiao with me to mom's office. I usually go there after school anyways and do my homework while she finishes up her work.I knew the first place Albert would go would be outside to look for us anyways. After we got inside I gave Barbra a hug. "Are you alright?" I asked. She didn't say anything which was unlike her. Xiao looked pretty concerned as well. She started to sniffle. "It's okay to be upset and cry about it you know." I said. The poor girl began to sob and bury her head in my chest. I had 2 younger sisters at home so I was pretty good at the whole big brother role. Mom sat across from us at her desk looking extremely confused. She eventually just went with it and decided not to say or do anything till at least Barbra had calmed down
After a few more minutes of sobbing Barbra started to calm down. "I don't wanna go to school anymore." Barbra said in between her sobs . I was surprised school was one of her favorite things it made her so happy but I was guessing it was in fear that Albert would actually do something to her. I mean he had gotten uncomfortably close a few times but nothing that far. She always kept herself together but I don't know what was so different this time. I mean it probably just built up. "So is somebody gonna tell me what's going on." Mom said. She stood up from her desk and leaned on the side of it. "Don't tell her please." Barbra whispered. I let out a sigh. "I'm not going to but you have to Barbra." Xiao finally spoke up "He's right you know. You have to tell her or else it isn't going to get any better." Xiao explained. "Barbra you know I'm not going to be mad at you." Mom said
After a bit of convincing Barbra talked to Mom about it. Mom felt like more of a Mom to Barbra then a sister sometimes. She asked me and Xiao to leave the office so we did so. "I have to get home. Let me know if anything happens." Xiao said. He handed me a paper with a number on it. Which I was assuming was his. "O-oh thank you I will!" I said. I didn't know why I was so glad to have his number I was just excited to talk to him more. But why was I excited to? Why did I think he was hot? It's not like I'm gay. And I'm definitely not attracted to Xiao
